How are things going?  I think about you now and then, wondering if Chewy's
going to get his head on straight.

He's doing MUCH better, especially since I've now got a place I go to
be alone a couple afternoons a week.  And since he realized I nearly
left a couple months ago.  There was one day that if I'd been able to
get in touch with a lady I know who'd just had the "do-it-yourself
divorce" book from the library, I'd have written everything up right
then and there.  Things have gotten immensely better since then.

He's even dealing more with YD's behavior, and he's working on his own
reactions to YS.  And he's talking with me about our issues, no more
dodging them, no more getting irritable and pushing me away
emotionally if issues come up.

Now if we can just get those household maintenance things taken care
of...

BTW, I wanted to say thanks for asking, Vicki.  I don't read nearly as
much as I used to and rarely post, because of the reactions I've
gotten.  I truly appreciate the concern you show.

You have gotten some pretty tough reactions here, Kitten, especially from me.
But I believe they come from a place of genuine concern from watching you over
the years turn yourself inside out for Chewy and his kids, without getting
similar consideration in return; I think we're all worried about you.

I'm glad things are looking up, and I hope they continue to do so.

The harsh reactions, no matter where they're coming from, don't help.
<shrug>

He's working hard now to make things better, but I"m still at a place
where I'm not sure if it's enough, in time.  Of course, today, I"m
tired and my body aches, so that makes it more difficult for me to
deal.

Chewy's been doing really well, but we did have a bit of a conflict
today.  YD had stayed out later than he'd told her she could on
Wednesday, without calling to talk to him about what was going on or
to get permission to stay out later.  He told me she was grounded for
it.  Found out today that he never told *her* she was grounded.  So
when she asked this afternoon if she could go to a friend's house and
he said yes, I said that I'd thought she was grounded.

His response was that it was all over and done.  Then she said she'd
never even known she was grounded.  He kinda wound up in a hole where
he had to tell her she couldn't go to her friend's after all because
she'd failed to communicate with him on Wednesday.

At this point, for today, I really don't care anymore.  Maybe I will
later, after I've spent a few more hours in town with the boys, doing
my laundry and using their 'net access.  <shrug>

Kitten,

How is your area up there?  I keep thinking you are in that area that
flooded.
With hope and heart,
Kathleen, not flooded, yet!

Aren't you close to Onion Creek?  It's all still OK down there?

I'm a half hour from MF, where the worst flooding was.  We're still
getting quite a lot of rain.  We left the civic in town tonight, just
in case I wake up tomorrow and, out of habit, head into town at 5am.
Don't want to chance washing down any creeks that flood overnight.
Nearly did that Wednesday morning.  We slept through that storm,
didn't know it hit, so didn't know the creeks were all flooded.
Thankfully, the creek that caught me by surprise had already gone down
most of the way by the time I hit it, and I didn't kill the car going
through it.

Hope you stay flood-free down there.

So far everything is OK in this area.  Onion creek is close but not enough
to affect us.  I keep hearing about MF, which is why I posted.  We've had a
lot of rain but not all at once.  I was a little concerned tonight because
if it rains all night the Blanco would flood.  I have a client on the river
who's home I take care of, so when it rains in Blanco and west of us I pay
attention.

I am still really grateful that everything is green.  Do you remember last
year how everything was so brown, and rain was so rare that when it did
rain, everyone went outside to watch it?
With hope and heart,
Kathleen

Yes, the green is nice.  The critters are enjoying it.  However, it
needs to firm up a bit today so we can put another round bale out.  At
least hay is a bit less expensive now.  But if everything keeps wet
like this, we'll lose all this year's hay crops.
