Posted this in ASM as well, so my apologies to anyone reading it
twice.

Got my house on the farm rented.

Rented a house near work.

Have a date this weekend with someone who thinks I'm worth driving 2
hours to spend time with and to get to know better - someone who
DOESN'T need rescuing.  (38, single, no kids, steady job that he
loves, no problem having to pass YS and my mechanic's inspections
before he can date me, etc)

Well, I have responded over on ASM too, but I'll repeat it here:  All good
news!  You deserve some fun after the last eight years.  Enjoy it.

Thanks, Vicki.  And to top it all off, my roses and kalanchoe on the
window sill above my desk are blooming again.  What more could a girl
ask for?

Nothing.  Flowers are wonderful; I have a garden that's making my heart
glad too.  But I have a little potted kalanchoe, and darned if I can
make it bloom.  It's beautifully healthy, growing branches and leaves,
but no blossoms.  :-(

What did you do to make yours bloom?

It was blooming when I bought it.  I was surprised when it started
blooming again.  I keep it on the window sill, which is south-facing.
And I water it with ferti-lome added to the water.  Other than that, I
just turn the pot a couple times a week.

I think lots and lots and lots of sun. Mine always got leggy and
rarely bloomed when in the house. The ones I bought and have sitting
outside with 5 or more hours a day of full sun haven't stopped blooming
since I bought them 6 months ago.

Thanks!

I'm getting my sense of humor back, big time.  Much to the chagrin
(apparently) of someone on ASM.  lol

The Goddess of Mischief seems to be well on the way to recovery.

It's just so nice to see you so ebulliant!  You had such a hard time with
Chewy and his kids.  I'm glad to see that the essential Kitten wasn't
completely squashed.

When I nearly wound up in the hospital 2 years ago, that was my
incentive to *really* take stock and to fix things.  A year and a half
was spent trying to get THEM to work with me to fix things.  Didn't
work.  So I'll just fix myself on my own, and they can do whatever
they will - on their own time and in their own space.

The important thing is, I get to be ME again, without worrying about
what kind of mood THEY are in.  <big goofy smile>

I really am finding that entire exchange in ASM quite hillarious, so
much so that I had to explain to one of my office-mates why I'm
laughing so much.

There was a bit of a set-back last night with the house in town that
I'd signed lease paperwork on.  Apparently, my friend's son sold the
house, without my friend knowing the son had the right to sell the
place.

However, I decided to leave it all in God's hands.  And this morning,
there was a good sign when I stepped outside the door.  There was a
strange, young black cat sitting there, as if she was waiting for me.
She demanded attention, actually not allowing me to leave for a
bit.  :-)  Leaves me wondering what's in store.

Well, AY is a prat.  Has to have the last word.  It's kind of funny to watch
you goading him/her.

0.o  Oh dear.  Nothing like parent-child communication.

Looks like a new litter box is in store, at any rate!

Thanks.  There are still scrapes, bumps, and bruises along the way to
recovery from where I've been.  But I'm climbing my way OUT of that
hole - and I'm determined not to ever go back down that pit
again.  :-)

GREAT time.  He's sweet, affectionate, *wanted* us to spend part of
our time with my best friend (who's been down due to falling off an 8'
ladder and tearing her ACL) and Viking (YS), beat my butt twice at
pool then shrugged it off as luck, likes my attitude, is a protective
type guy, dealt well with us bumping into the guy I'd been dating
right after Chewy left me, and is planning to come back next weekend
if his work schedule goes OK.

Excellent!  Just relax and enjoy it.  And if something goes wrong, don't try
to fix it, just let it go.  There are many fish in the sea!

Still at the farm.  I've got 2 weeks to find me a place and get moved
in.  lol... I'm trusting God to lay the right place in front of me.

LOL... The Viking has given me a very strict rule and is expecting me
to follow it - no getting serious about anyone until I've known them
at least 2 years.  Not that I'm any good at following orders or
anything.  LOL
