BM was in town for a 2 day visit with the kids... 8yr old SS just said..
"I lit Mommy's cigarette for her". WTF was she thinking??? This woman
wants the kids to live with her.. how amazing.
Ok.. I am done.. I am so amazed. I came here to vent instead of spewing
negative things in front of the kids...
Sigh

I'm sorry you're so frustrated; I know I'd be pissed off too. What did
your hubby say?

He said: " That is not something to brag about or be proud of"
10yr old SD chimed in.. "That is so wrong. All that is going to do is make
him get used to having a cigarette in his hand".
Thanks for your and Rebecca's response!

Kids are funny. Last weekend, we were talking about smoking for some reason
(can't remember why) and I said to SS(8) "you know you aren't allowed to
smoke, right?" he says "I know, until I'm 18" I say "You are never allowed
to smoke." We talk again about why, addiction and lung cancer and whatnot.
He trots out "my mom used to smoke" I say "but she doesn't anymore and you
can't either" He says "I only want to try one."
We must have had that conversation a dozen times now. It's like a little
play that we put on, every time the topic comes up. It's a losing battle.
I tried a cigarette when I was a kid, every kid I know tried one. I don't
know exactly why some kids took up the habit and others didn't. I guess I
just think I'm supposed to keep up my lines, because maybe, just maybe as he
takes that first puff, he'll think of me and put it out. Maybe.
