My almost 8 y/o SD has a new thing that she is doing.
when the baby cries, she cries.
she says that she feels so bad that she just has to cry for her, now I
could see if the baby fell and got hurt, I would cry too...;(
but she cries if the baby is just crying because its feeding time, or
even just fussing.

is this cute?
does she want the same attention?
or could this be an emotional problem?

DH says it's because that is how caring she is. she is a very caring and
kind little girl, he says it's a bond with the baby, but I thought maybe
an emotional problem. because before this started, she acted like crying
got on her nerves.
Hummm, what do you think?

TIA,,Chris

Maybe it does get on her nerves, and she's found that crying in
response doesn't annoy you and/or DH as much as expressing her
irritation.  It allows her to discharge some emotion that the baby's
crying stirs up in a way that is accepted by the other people in her
home.

it is then too impetuous to be stemmed; it bears down all before it,

I'm going to shoot for the wanting of attention.
When baby cries, baby gets FULL attention.
If she cries when baby cries, she then ALSO receives attention, thus taking
some attention away from the baby.

In your heart of heart, what do you feel?
