Karen,
This seems a lifetime away for me. Yet, in some ways it seems like yesterday
;) Anyway, I'm sure my brain has lost a lot of that info, but I'll try to
relate what I remember a typical day to be.
Reading easily took up 1/3 of our waking day. I'd say another 1/3 was spent
eating/changing/burping/bathing and the last 1/3 was split between singing,
dancing, and a video or two.
I know my friends teased me all the time about treating the girls like they
were 30yo instead of 3 mos. I talked to them all day about everything. I read
People magazine to them, etc. I figured it was good for them to hear all kinds
of unusual words, and it was good for me to keep up my adult language, too! I
also read 20+ books a day multiple times.
I also used the Baby Einstein flashcards at that age. It's not like I was
trying to create geniuses - or that I even thought the flashcards were
"working". It just seemed clear the girls enjoyed the visual, tactile, and
touch stimulation. Along with this, I used the Baby Einstein videos. Mozart
was the biggie, if I remember correctly. I sat in front of the TV facing the
girls and explained everything. They *loved* this.
I created a photo album w/all their relatives and family friends for each of
them. We went over that each day.
This pretty much sums up the first year of their lives. :)
Have lots and lots of fun!

When my girls were infants they liked it when I put some music on and danced
while holding them. They took turns, the onlooker enjoying the show. They
are almost 2 now and still love it. They listen to music every day and now
dance on their own.
Enjoy your babes!
