It crept up on us.. probably began when DD first saw a skateboarder on
one of those wide walkways in town.. then some nitwit wizzing around the
park on one of those mini-motorbike-thingies.. finally a neighbour's car
parked on the pavement for an afternoon of Chips-Away[tm].

In the last couple of weeks she has absolutely refused to set foot on a
pavement and  panics big-time if you put her down on one. Adjacent grass
is perfectly fine, but it's usually people's front gardens.

We can't get her to say why, but AFAICT she thinks a car might suddenly
appear and hurt her. Nothing has worked. Has anyone got any ideas how to
cure this?

How about if you start with "safe" pavements in parks etc so there are no
cars around. Or pedestrianised areas in towns. And then started to edge
towards the "dangerous ones" once she is happy with the "safe" ones.

Grrr.. after weeks and weeks of this, yesterday she suddenly decided
that walking on pavements is perfectly fine after all.
