Hello All

I have ONE box of UNOPENED Cow&Gate No 3 baby powdered milk.  I bought two
boxes when we tried to move my son from the C&G no1 to the next stage when
he was six months old.  We used part of the first box and found that he did
not take to it very well so we decided to leave things as they are.

Does anyone know who I can give the box to that can make use of it?  Will
the local hospital take it?   I don't have the receipt anymore and it would
be a waste to throw it away as babies milk does cost a lot of money.  I live
in Kingston-upon-Thames if that's any help.

Thanks for any help

I had some unopened powdered milk which I gave to my health visitor to give
to someone who would use it. Otherwise you could try a toddler group. I took
some baby food the other day and gave it to the first family with a baby of
relevant age.

If those fail, you could try locating a women's refuge, their locations are
not publisiced so sometimes you have to give donations via somewhere else
like a police station, they are likely to accept anything as they will have
mums and children of any age coming in

Their phone number should be in the phone book and fairly widely
available from women's organisations in the area if a woman can't find
it then they're failing in part of their function. My local one would
certainly be happy for anyone to bring donations in to their office
(as opposed to hostel) address.

You could also try your local freecycle group
try freecycle.org

You offer stuff you no longer want and people email requesting it

Yahoo groups work well if you sub by email and get the emails as they
happen.

Hmm, Yahoo that keeps bouncing innocent users?  Or Yahoo that keeps
closing down overnight?  Or keeps loosing my favourite list?

Hmm, I love Yahoo!  There are so many ways to skin that cat, why be
belligerent? [Not you Chris!]

Thank you. I don't *think* I'm too belligerant, but
unfortunately the psoted word can be interpreted
in a different way to that intended.

But that's the problem I don't want to have to give my address to an
advertising broker just to find out whether or not freecycle are worth
bothering with.

I am on various yahoogroups and have been for a number of years, and
have used probably 5-6 different email addresses (specific to
yahoogroups. I have never, ever, not once received any unsolicited mail
from them

How do you know that?

Because I'd notice if I did.

The addresses I use for Yahoogroups are specific to Yahoogroups, they
are not and have not been used for anything else. any email to those
addresses NOT to a group is filtered out to a different folder (usually
a personal oflist message to me) so is soon spotted. If I had received
any unwanted crap from Yahoo or spam to those addresses I would have

1. Changed the address

2. complained to Yahoo.

I've had to do neither.

Fair enough it seems like a terribly complicated way to have to
subscribe to a mailing list just so you can find out if it's worth
reading which is how this started.
