Hi All

I am taking DS for his MMR tomorrow and wondered will he get any side
effects from it? I'm thinking things that may effect him for the day or two
after?

thanks

He might do, then again he might not, Elinor hasn't been affected at all
by any of her vaccinations.

Noraml sorts of things are mild tummy upsets, mild temp rise, etc.

Hi Natalie,
I don't think you should expect anything different from his other jabs.
Apart from the first couple of early jabs I would give DS some Calpol in
advance...just in case.

Hi,

After Samantha had hers she was fine for about a week, then had a slight
fever one day which vanished the next and was replaced by a few spots and a
complete lack of interest in food. This lasted about a day or so and now we
are all back to normal.

My friends son had no reaction whatsoever so I guess it's all different for
each child!

Cheers

I think the MMR shouldn't have much reaction for the next day or two-it's 10
days after when they may get a mild fever and possibly even a slight rash.
The place where he's injected may swell slightly up to a small red lump-I
think 10p size is what they quote. Ask the nurse who does it.
#1 had no reaction at all so there won't necessarily be one.

no symptoms/effect for ds.

Although they did give me a 'checklist' and on there were things like mild
fever, a rash after 10 days (the measles part kicking in) but I did give
Calpol 30 mins before the jab.

Try not to worry (easier said than done eh?) but you also think it's teh
right thing to do. I was quite worried but I knew it was for the best.

Natalie, Nathanael had his on monday, apparently you can get a reaction
very soon after or at about 10 days after, we've escaped the first one, so
I'll just have to wait and see if he reacts next week...
