I'd just like to say how much I've appreciated the information, advice and
support from everyone here on so many issues - Larry,Brigitte, Ilse, Jo,
elizabeth, Jenrose, Chookie,  Leslie, New York Jen ... .. and I've probably
missed heaps more.

why does the milk back up to the tubes (grrrrr)?31 Jan 2005 15:37 GMT4
I'm so mad. This happened to me twice this week. Is it a positioning
thing? While pumping the milk (with my PIS) milk is getting into the
tubes. I'm having to wash the tubes each time. It's not easy.
Thanks.
Hello!31 Jan 2005 05:44 GMT7
I'm a newbie.  I just thought I'd introduce myself.  My name is
Jennifer.  I have a 17 month old son, Jaxon.  He's still BF.  Just
thought I'd hang out a while.  I'm also a research nut, sorry I don't
have a copy of Hale's, but I try to help moms w/ BF problems any chance

Help - nipple ripper!30 Jan 2005 15:10 GMT2
I know there has been some discussion on here recently about babies
popping off the breast and getting distracted while nursing .. my
DS does that too, but he has also taken to ripping off the nipple
in the middle of nursing.  Without warning and without loosening
What is the best age to introduce solids?29 Jan 2005 22:34 GMT6
If the family doesn't have any known food allergies, would you say 6
months is a good time to start solids? Is there any reason to postpone
to later? Please explain if you agree/disagree.
Thanks.
spoonfeeding, increases risk of choking?29 Jan 2005 12:21 GMT11
if you didn't spoonfeed your baby, but just started raw carrot or raw
apple as solids (past 6 months, naturally), would you expect your
child to bite off too big a piece and then be prone to choking?
Because mine did, and mine would choke, I don't understand how a child
Anyone have experience with foremilk/hindmilk imbalance?29 Jan 2005 05:55 GMT8
My LC says I have an imbalance because my 4wk old DD has been stooling
grass-green watery/foamy stools for a couple days.  I'm taking her to the
pedi tomorrow to rule out anything more serious, but in the meantime, I'm
switching up my gameplan to make sure she gets lots of hindmilk.
Hales lookup please - Ibuprofen28 Jan 2005 18:27 GMT7
A nice straightforward one to check.  ;-)  The BNF says that although
traces of it get into the milk, it's OK, but I got a bit nervous about
it and wanted to double-check with Hales, as that gives more info.
(Not something I need right at the moment, but have now decided to go

My friends baby27 Jan 2005 23:28 GMT7
I just had to share this, my friend has a huge baby, totally off the
percentile graphs.  He was born at 8lbs 2ozs, a perfectly normal weight for
a newborn.  At about 8weeks, he was 15.5 pounds and I was speaking to her
last week and he was 18 pounds.  He is not 3 months old yet, at ...
Need help weaning older toddler27 Jan 2005 16:58 GMT6
Hello, I have a 32 month old (almost 3 years old) who still nurses like
crazy!  My guess would be at least 3 hours a day, throughout the
morning, day and night.  I would like to start weaning, and it's not
been successful so far.  I've tried to cut out the least favorite nurse
