Unsupportive family31 Oct 2005 21:45 GMT13
How many people here are extended breastfeeders?  I have a 19mo old.  I
just found out he has some decay on his back front teeth.  The dentist
says I don't need to stop nursing, just to keep his teeth clean.
I talked to my sister and she yelled at me for still nursing.  She said
Starting solids31 Oct 2005 11:35 GMT8
I thought I was going to wait until my DS was 6 mths before starting solids,
but his recent behavior has started me thinking...
Background:  He's 5 mths old, weighs about 20lbs (birth weight was 8lb 3oz)
and can sit with support.  He can actually sit unsupported for about 10-15

Having watched me stuff Thermacare heat pads in my bra many times to deal
with clogs, my 24 month old daughter has once again gotten into the
pantyshields and is sticking them to her little chest.

nursing shirts?30 Oct 2005 14:00 GMT42
Is it "essential" or very helpful to purchase tops that are specific to
breastfeeding?  I don't have any, and I was just thinking about how handy
would it be to just lift up the shirt?  Do you invest in "nursing" clothes
or just adapt?
AFand sore nipples28 Oct 2005 22:38 GMT2
AF returned last month and was accompanied by very sore nipples. It was
almost as bad as nursing a newborn (pain wise...but there was no
rawness). Poor little guy wasn't happy with the decreased output, which
didn't help. It just made him want to nurse more frequently. And from
best place to buy nursing bras?28 Oct 2005 03:53 GMT12
I am due in December and only have 2 really crappy nursing bras.  I bought
them from Motherhood maternity and find that the shoulder straps have
stretched to the point that they slip off my shoulders and there is no more
adjustability in them, they're as tight as they'll go.

exclusively breastfeeding but milk supply is decreasing, Help!27 Oct 2005 08:25 GMT6
Hi my baby is 8 months old but was born 2 months early, when he was in
the NICU I got really familiar with using a pump, but was able to
switch exclusively to the breast. Just recently my baby has stopped
gaining weight so I rented a hospital grade pump to try and see if it
sleep with diff  persons27 Oct 2005 03:52 GMT1
My baby(close to one year) is used to being rocked to sleep and daily
my mother used to do this.
I work and after work I do everything for the baby but lately for last
two months - the sleep time is mostly with my mother who stays with us.
Starting solids....26 Oct 2005 17:13 GMT22
We arent' planning on anything but EBM until 6 months, but starting to
formulate my philosophy on this.  Suspect doctor will encourage us to start
with rice cereal, but know that many of you smart people think food is
better.  I obviously understand the reasoning behind adding a ...
no naps- EVER- life in disaster zone.26 Oct 2005 04:50 GMT11
Sorry, this is a bit off topic I know.  I haven't been able to read or
post in a while since we still don't have internet since Rita.  My 14
month old is no longer napping- ever.  She has never been a great
napper, but before the hurricane, she would go down around noon for an
Weaning woes, support needed26 Oct 2005 03:19 GMT5
Hello, I don't know who else to go to...I'm in a small town....I'm
still nursing my 3 1/2 year old and he shows no signs of stopping.
Weaning has been very difficult, and he still nurses for about 90
minutes total every day, spread out from morning in bed, naptime,

My baby is 3.5 weeks old and I was wondering how long my baby should be

enough each time?
TIA
