abcesses31 Jan 2006 17:21 GMT2
does anyone know what the advice about recurrent abcesses is from a bfing
point of view.
In our area there was a case recently where someone had recurrent abcesses,
got mixed advice, then when things got worse didn't see anyone and ended up

Ok, not only do I have thrush or some other unknown infection in my
nipples, and a blood blister that has popped and reappeared again, my
darling boy has just tonight cut his first tooth... Is it one of the
little bottom ones nicely covered by the tongue while breastfeeding?
Advice on food and handling it...30 Jan 2006 19:30 GMT22
Alright, DD is just about 6 months old now.  She's currently on baby food
(she's had stuff like peas, carrots, green beans, squash, wax beans,
applesauce, bananas, etc)  I give her some pablum in the morning - sometimes
with a bit of bananas or whatever mixed in, but not always, ...
2nd time mum just as clueless30 Jan 2006 17:46 GMT9
Just wondering what to expect with #2 (due any day now).  Does milk tend
to come in any faster second time round?
I hope so...
Breastfeeding and feelings...30 Jan 2006 17:30 GMT5
I'm wondering if anyone out there has or does or would feel similar to what
I'm feeling lately...
I was a bf baby, so were both of my younger brothers.  I have always had
great, great support from my mother as far as nursing goes...
Reduction in milk supply30 Jan 2006 15:32 GMT4
DD Ilona is doing great, she turned 5months last friday.  She feeds
pretty much on a schedule, she wakes up at 6 and feeds and then will
feed again at around 10:30 am, in the meantime I try to extract milk at
around 8 or 9 to store or to have for the day in case I need to run
Starting Solids29 Jan 2006 11:36 GMT5
Ilona as I mentioned in a previous message today, is 5 months, the
pediatrician told me to start on solids:  the first week juice, second
week juice and cereal, third week juice cereal and fruits etc, etc.
We live in Ecuador, where things might be a bit different than in the
is it ok to let them cry a bit?29 Jan 2006 11:04 GMT21
My daughter is now 6 wks old, and I have a horrible feeling when she cries.
I especially can't stand it when she is in the back seat of the car and
starts to wail...  What do I do?  Usually I hurry to find a spot and pull
over, climb in the back seat and try to pacify her.  I try ...
Decongestants?29 Jan 2006 04:42 GMT1
I don't know if this is a dumb question or not--but do decongestants such as
Sudafed tend to lessen milk supply?  I am wondering because I have a cold
and am hesitant to take anything, but would gladly take them if there is no
risk.
Barium Swallow Study/bottle28 Jan 2006 19:57 GMT31
I'm a long-time lurker, and I have four children.  My fourth was born with
spina bifida at the end of September (he's almost 4 months), and along with
that came some other stuff.  He has Arnold-Chiari Malformation Type II, and
it can affect swallowing and cause aspiration.  He's ...

Can I have my Zoloft now please? <rant>28 Jan 2006 11:00 GMT18
Ok, now I'm annoyed. I saw a new Dr. today because mine hasn't been helpful
with treating my PPD. I told the new Dr. that despite my history of having
tried many antidepressants in the past, and being against the idea of using
them while pg or bf, I'd finally resolved my issues ...
I feel like a genius!27 Jan 2006 22:49 GMT2
I was all set to write another "help me!" post because Madi is just not
taking to the bottle well and I start work in a couple weeks.  We've tried
different brands of nipples, different people giving her the bottle, using
the car seat, etc.  She would either just gnaw on the ...
horrendous pain after a feed again27 Jan 2006 19:28 GMT7
well I think I must have thrush, but it sure is presenting bizarrely, after
my paniced post on Tuesday, no problems at all, then after feeding this
evening, OUCH, utterly horrendous, yelping in pain, almost screaming etc.
husband says "I don't understand, I thought....." well he ...
lighthearted - for the breastfed kids....27 Jan 2006 17:18 GMT1
I found the perfect ball for Will to play with - it's light, cheap and
has more nipples than I could ever need! :)
