How much breastmilk does it take to actually do anything?10 Feb 2006 21:28 GMT12
I'm down to pumping twice a day, and my output is such that my daughter can
have, maybe, a sippy cup full of milk total in a day's time-about 8 oz, with
3 in the morning and 5 at night. I'm wondering if I'm actually doing
anything useful for her with that small quanitity (which ...
Funniest place you've nursed...10 Feb 2006 17:48 GMT15
So, yesterday we went to a dairy farm to see how they make milk (which
I already had kind of figured out), and to buy the really awesome
cheese and ice cream they make at this dairy.  We decided to take the
tour of the grounds, which is pretty interesting, actually.  We rode

I am about 2 weeks from my due date and have been doing a lot of
reading lately.  I plan on breastfeeding for at least the first 3
months but want to also give BM in a bottle so my husband can play a
role in feeding.  I have yet to find info on when to pump to "stock
CT scan while breastfeeding08 Feb 2006 14:11 GMT9
I will get a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis (non contrast) next week.
The reason of the scan is to look for kidney stones. The lady who made
my appointment confirmed that I will not be injected anything. I am
still wondering, even if I am not injected anything, will the scan

I never got to this point with Nathanael, but today I said something I never
expected myself to say, which was "I'd stop breastfeeding Ada, if she would
take a bottle".
Luckily for her, she won't take a bottle, so I won't stop, but it's a close
A lot of these parents are unaware that the bottle or nursing will cause (cavities) if a child is left on the bottle or nursing too long,"07 Feb 2006 19:56 GMT1

How do you know what it is you ate?07 Feb 2006 10:07 GMT2
My baby is 7 weeks old and started to get really gassy/fussy about 3
weeks ago.  I am/was a HUGE cow milk drinker (which is kinda gross...
if you think about us being the only mammals who drink another mammals'
milk... and odd that so many people shudder at human milk.) and eater
How long does LAM last before you have to worry?07 Feb 2006 05:13 GMT6
Alli's 14 months. I currently pump only twice a day-morning and night. I
still haven't gotten AF back. WHile I admit to it having been kind of nice
to go almost 2 years without a period, I'm starting to get concerned. So
far, home pregnancy tests are negative.
Mirena. breastfeeding and AF07 Feb 2006 02:07 GMT6
I am just curious & thought I'd post here since so many of us seem to be
using the Mirena.
With DD, I got AF back at 7 months pp, using mini-pill BC.
This time around, I was using a diaphragm for a few months and then switched

Period already?06 Feb 2006 17:23 GMT4
My baby is only 7 weeks old, but I think I started my period today.
She has been nursing like mad - the lochia stopped 2 weeks ago - surely
this isn't that again...
Is this possible?!?
Pharmac won't fund my medication06 Feb 2006 03:17 GMT23
as they don't consider breastfeeding to be an important enough circumstance
to warrant it. So no Zoloft for me. I'm not prepared to wean, so I'll just
have to bear with the depression for a bit longer and/or find other ways to
cope. This sucks, and not just for me, but for so ...
sore nipples06 Feb 2006 00:03 GMT19
Hi, I have a 3 week old and feeding REALLY hurts.  I realise that it is
normal to have some pain and that it can take a while to get used to it, so
I was hoping for some feedback - whether I have issues or it's just
standard.
arrrghhhh, Ameda Hygienikit05 Feb 2006 18:43 GMT4
I decided to get a new pumping set as I needed some new valves anyway and
the tubes are becoming worn. So I located the supplier in the UK, looked at
their website and picked up the phone.
This is what it said on the website

She weighed in at a nicely average 11lbs, but is a lanky 24 inches long (95
