Cancer and Breastfeeding24 Mar 2006 02:06 GMT9
My friend is 4 months pregnant and was recently diagnosed with ovarian
cancer.  She was really wanting to breastfeed, but her doctors are
telling her she can't because of the treatments she will need once she
has her baby.
Thrush and GSE?24 Mar 2006 02:03 GMT3
Did anyone treat their thrush with GSE (grapefruit seed extract)?  Did
it work? How long did you use it to get rid of it?
I've been using the Nystatin, but still have thrush, so I bought GSE
today to try to kick it.  I've read that the Nystatin liquid for the
Weaning and more24 Mar 2006 01:26 GMT11
I know this will be a little controversial here, but please bear with me.
DD is now almost 13 months old.  I love nursing and feel like I could do it
for much longer if there weren't other issues involved.  We are down to
nursing 2x/day, sometimes 3.  I am no longer pumping (it's ...
Question about stools / dairy elimination23 Mar 2006 16:54 GMT4
I know it varies depending on the severity of the allergy, but I'm
wondering how long it may take for my son to stop passing blood in his
stool after I've eliminated dairy? I'd love to hear any one else's
experience with this.
Multiple let downs while pumping?23 Mar 2006 13:08 GMT5
Hi..
I have a 2.5 mo son and I have been BF him since birth.  Most nights I
pump once at night while he is sleeping to have a spare bit of milk JIC
for the next day or so.

Oh, wow, this stuff rocks.  The weather is so dry here, and I've had a
hard time with dry skin on and around my nipples - not really sore from
breastfeeding, but I didn't think it was helping either.  WOW is this
back to work - will probably turn out to be a vent22 Mar 2006 21:27 GMT9
I'm due back at work tomorrow. Before E was born, i was quite sure I
wanted to go back to work, but now, I keep having second thoughts.
She will be taken care of by my Mom until June, and then will go to a
daycare. It's just, I didn't expect to feel so.. sad. I feel like I'm
3 week supply problems22 Mar 2006 21:04 GMT19
My newest son, Harry, passed his 3 week mark on Wednesday.  At his check
on Tuesday, he had gained a pound over his birth weight, and diapers are
all looking good, so we're not too worried about him, at the moment.  BUT:
after clortrimazole and gentian violet, my boobs are still ...
co-sleeping while away?22 Mar 2006 13:26 GMT10
We don't currently co-sleep with our 10 week DD and have tried to follow the
recommendations from the SIDS organizations.  She sleeps swaddled in a cot
right next to our bed with a breathing monitor under her, and I even wrapped
the matress in her cot.  I know, probably going ...
An intermission before the final curtain22 Mar 2006 00:51 GMT2
OK - tonight I cheated, just a little.
On the last two nights, he's had his dummy in his mouth already when we
went into the bedroom, and so he's just sucked on that as he went to
sleep.  Tonight, as I was getting him ready for bed, he put his dummy
Preparing to pump - questions21 Mar 2006 22:32 GMT17
I've got a few months before I need to buy anything, but I'm trying to
make a list to work out a budget so planning a bit ahead.
- If needing to pump due to FT work (ie 8+ hrs away from baby), I guess
an electric pump would be best?
Co-sleeping21 Mar 2006 21:11 GMT29
Am I doing my 12 week old a disservice by co-sleeping?  I enjoy having
her so close, but I wonder if she is relying on me for sleeping.  We
planned on transitioning her to crib at 5 months.  Thoughts?
Suggestions?
6 month update (xposted)21 Mar 2006 19:35 GMT9
I haven't been keeping up very well with mkp or mkb
--- life is just too busy with two kids and a job ---
but I wanted to pop in a post an update in case there
are folks around who remember me (I do see some familiar
Duration of feedings?21 Mar 2006 17:31 GMT6
My DS (2 1/2 months) usually nurses for 10-15 min on each side during one
feeding.  Starting yesterday he started pulling off at 2-5 minutes.  I
thought he was just messing around so I put him back on, and he would suck
for 10 sec and pull off again.  Lather, rinse, repeat, he ...
