| dumb question | 15 Mar 2006 23:55 GMT | 3 |
Hi, I'm guessing this is a dumb question....sorry DD (9 weeks) has just had what must be a growth spurt - she normally feeds every couple of hours for about 5 mins. On the weekend she was feeding every hour for 20 mins at least, and waking to feed every couple of hours at

| bottles | 15 Mar 2006 18:27 GMT | 7 |
Ok I know everyone asks this but I am being boring today! Tara is 9months old. I breastfeed her, as well as give solids usually 2 times a day. She was introduced to a bottle at about 5 weeks old due to a hospitalisation that I couldnt always be there for. We had no problems then,

| The Sopranos, anyone? | 14 Mar 2006 21:15 GMT | 5 |
They showed Janice bf'ing her baby, and was I hearing things, or did she say that "baby" was 15 months old? Nice! Dh and I were like a well-oiled machine all day yesterday, conspiring to get those kids tired out, well-fed, and in bed and soundly asleep well

| birth control reccommendations? | 14 Mar 2006 20:00 GMT | 36 |
So, here it is 3 months post partum, and I'm just now starting to consider my options for birth control. I was on depo before, but gained weight and didn't care for the hassles of going in for an injection every 3 months. I have always had super irregular cycles though, and ...

| Early waking? | 14 Mar 2006 11:06 GMT | 4 |
Any idea what could be causing my 7 month old DD to randomly wake up at 4:30 and 5:00 am the last two nights? We've not changed her bedtime (in fact, she was up an hour later last night than normal, because we were out). She's not mad or in pain when she wakes up - just wide

| Family Guy | 14 Mar 2006 10:04 GMT | 3 |
Karen's Sopranos post reminded me that on "Family Guy" last night they had a breastfeeding subplot. I have to admit to not watching much of the show (I don't actually like the show, but DH does so our compromise is to flip to it during commercials)

| Not taking in milk as much as before | 13 Mar 2006 23:13 GMT | 1 |
My 4.5 months old son would not take more than 4 oz per feeding. For the first 2 months, he was taking in about 4.5 oz of breast milk every 3 hour. Now he couldn't even finish 4 oz every 3-4 hours. We took him to the doc, and he hasn't really gained much in the last 2 months. I

| avoiding nursing to sleep | 13 Mar 2006 04:37 GMT | 14 |
My son nursed to sleep every night, and couldn't fall asleep without nursing. I ended up nightweaning (other than going to bed) when he was one or two years old (it's all a blur) and it was hard on all of us -- but I was going insane from lack of sleep as he'd wake up every hour ...

| shingles! (& vicodin question) | 13 Mar 2006 02:07 GMT | 9 |
Yep, I got shingles. :( very sucky. Started with a painful, itchy rash on my rear end of all places on Mon. I had a PAP scheduled for today anyway, so I figured I'd have it checked then. Yesterday I started getting very swollen and painful lymph nodes along my

| another update | 11 Mar 2006 10:57 GMT | 4 |
well things are marginally less painful, but I took myself along to the drop-in as planned as there is still a lump and there is still pain. As I figured out there wasn't a lactation consultant there, but there was a lady who I've never met before, who is not a consultant, but a ...

| Relactating after an illness | 10 Mar 2006 23:30 GMT | 7 |
I need some advice, please. My baby is 6 months old, and I feed him with expressed breast milk. 5 days ago I got sick with a stomack virus. I guess due to dehydration, weight loss, fever, and inability to pump, my supply is practically gone. I pump at most 3 oz now from

| Nipple sensativity | 10 Mar 2006 15:38 GMT | 1 |
Ever since puberty, my nipples and areola has always been an erogenous zone. This sensitivity has not lessened during their development during my pregnancy. In fact it has increased. While my husband finds this quite rewarding during foreplay, I am embarrassingly worried that the ...

| donating milk | 10 Mar 2006 07:34 GMT | 9 |
I hope this doesn't sound weird.... It didn't, in my head, til I went to write this post! At 6 months pg, I seem to have so much milk, that I am having to express lots. I heard, years ago, about people donating breast milk to special care

| Milk ducts that aren't on the nipple | 10 Mar 2006 04:39 GMT | 19 |
This is a weird and slightly embarrassing question. I asked my Mum, extended breastfeeder and tandem nurser, and she looked at me like I'd grown a second head. Does anyone else have a milk duct on the areola, not with the rest of them

| Nipple Shield or No? | 09 Mar 2006 22:06 GMT | 7 |
Hello. I'm having some issues with my baby latching on. I've posted a few times in the past but mostly I've been "lurking" on the group. Jeff was born 11 weeks premature and just recently (last Friday) came home from the NICU after 56 days inhouse. While in the hospital he was
