I posted a couple times when I first had my baby and we were having
problems breastfeeding; now I have another problem, and here I am

My baby boy, 6.5 months, have been BFing unhappily during the day over
Interview with Robin Barker (x-posted)01 Aug 2006 00:24 GMT3
Thought some people might be interested in having a look at this.
Robin Barker, the author of "Baby Love" was interviewed on Ch9's Today Show
this morning. She talks about the difficulties being encountered in setting
up Australia's first breastmilk bank (1st video), as well as ...
sleep and supply? (bit long. sorry)31 Jul 2006 21:02 GMT10
My DD is now 4 and a half weeks. When she was first born I expresed a
lot as well as breastfeeding, as she just didn't seem to get enough by
breastfeeding, and I became concerned about her as her urine was
becoming quite concentrated - fortunately nipple confusion was never an
Oy ... what did I say?31 Jul 2006 15:34 GMT27
So ... I was wandering around the net the other day, and found myself
over on the Babycenter.com parenting boards.  A rather unusual place
... Lots of moms with lots of questions about fairly straightforward
things (and surprsingly few helpful answers from other moms)  so ...
Australian formula ad!!31 Jul 2006 15:14 GMT5
Has anyone seen the new ad for Karicare toddler milk?  I am
dumbfounded! How is this crap allowed on TV?
It shows a mumma bear who said she breastfed for 12 months, but then
found it hard to get all the nutrients she needed to keep BF so instead
baby hair barrettes30 Jul 2006 06:19 GMT6
OK, Madeline's hair is now long enough to be getting in her eyes, but not
long enough to really stay back when brushed.  She's only 8 months, but had
a few inches of hair when she was born.  I bought some "baby" size
barrettes, and then realized that she could choke on them if ...
CNN Article of July 2729 Jul 2006 20:10 GMT4
Here's the link:

The stance of this article kind of annoys me, because it structures the
discussion as being between "Well, I try not to show too much boob" and
Paranoid new mom question #4521 - now sleeping too much?28 Jul 2006 15:24 GMT11
We'll get this all worked out soon.
Since Sunday, DD has been feeding like a maniac. Yesterday she slept 2
1hr stretches, and a few 10-15 minute naps throughout the day.
Otherwise, she was feeding. Plenty of wet diapers and poops were either
The little guy is finally here!  Birth Story, xposted27 Jul 2006 20:13 GMT5
FInally!  After all the hyperemesis, cerclage, preterm contractions,
plus a solid week of mild early labor, etc...we all figured he would
arrive early but no such luck, my due date came and went.
I never had time for an epidural with DD, and I wanted to try to go

Green poop?26 Jul 2006 17:38 GMT7
Is this normal?
DD started off with yellow grainy poops in her first week of mostly
breastmilk (at about 14 days old). Then it went to yellow mucousy poop.
And now she's been having green mucousy poop. I thought yellow was
Improving quality of breastmilk?26 Jul 2006 06:24 GMT10
Okay, I know my breastmilk is the perfect food for my baby.  But is
there any way to make it even better?  A special diet, nutritional
supplements, etc.?
DS has neutropenia (lowered neutrophils -- particular white blood cells
Woohoo! She's gained weight!26 Jul 2006 04:39 GMT2
That means the BF'ing is working :).
I had been a bit paranoid about that, and was holding my breath til DD
was weighed today, but she's putting it on at a normal rate! She's
still not at her birthweight (2.5 oz under, 3weeks old today), but
Using a sling while BF?25 Jul 2006 21:26 GMT10
I'm currently pregnant with about 2 months to go. I also have a son who will
be 15 months old when the new baby is born. I'm hoping to BF this second
baby (as I did the first one!) and am crossing my fingers and toes that all
goes according to plan.
Leaking like Niagra Falls.....25 Jul 2006 20:06 GMT16
Is leaking something that eases with time as we sort out this
breastfeeding pattern? Or am I doomed to soaking through multiple pads
a day for the next couple of years?
Not the end of the world, but I hate wearing bras, esp. at night. I have
