How soon can you express breast milk?25 Jul 2006 18:28 GMT8
I am new here, I have a 16 day old daughter who I have been breastfeeding
since birth.  My question is how soon can I start to express breast milk so
that I can leave the feeding responsibilities to my husband so I can catch
up on my sleep and run errands etc?
Feeding questions25 Jul 2006 06:50 GMT2
My three and a half week old is feeding for almost two hours at a time.
I feel pretty confident with my latch. I see her sucking AND swallowing
consistently. Is she really this hungry? Before today, I would pull her
off after about 25 minutes at each breast when her sucking and
So proud of myself! And DD - NIP25 Jul 2006 06:41 GMT10
I've only been at this since last Monday, and I hadn't figured out how
to BF discretely yet. In the hospital was no big deal, I had no qualms
about ripping off my top. So we had our first outing today to Target.
Of course as soon as we arrived she decided she wanted to nurse again.
Breastfeeding & Adoption?24 Jul 2006 12:06 GMT7
I spoke to my cousin who is going to be adopting. She asked about
breastfeeding and how can she produce milk. There is a lot of
information online, but I was hoping to hear from someone who had
actually done it and how they went about it. How difficult was it?
Breastfeeding challenges23 Jul 2006 22:50 GMT21
My daughter is now 18 days old, but spent the first 17 days in
hospital. She was on a ventilator for 8 days, began tube feeding EBM at
day 5, mouth feeding 2x/day at day 11 - via bottle which she didn't
take to well at all. At 14 days started on the breast. She immediately
Etiquette Question - wedding invites23 Jul 2006 22:41 GMT95
Greetings folks:
Just wanting to get some opinions from out there. We've been invited to
a wedding, which it will cost a fair bit for us to go to; car rental,
gas, clothing for me, wedding gift, etc.
Q: allergies, gut problems and Neocate Vs breastmilk23 Jul 2006 09:00 GMT25
I'm looking for anyone with real information on this (as in personal
experience, journal references etc)
Firstly, there is a gastroenterologist, a paed. and a LC with particular
experience in food allergy all giving different advice.  I've done what
feeding too often?22 Jul 2006 15:19 GMT17
DD is 6 1/2 months and still feeds on average at least every 2 hours during
the day and several times during the night.  We've recently started her on
solids and she enjoys one good meal of rice or pear or whatever a day, but
she's basically still dependant on breastfeeding.  I ...
Gas problem22 Jul 2006 09:05 GMT10
The last few days, my nearly 5 month old DD seems to have been farting a
lot, especiaally when she wakes during the night. She squirms as though her
tummy is uncomfortable (though this is just my interpretation) then lets one
off.

My name is Michelle and I have 3 kids.  I breastfed each one and have
never encountered a situation like the one a few days ago.
Please read the story posted here.

I miss breastmilk poo!21 Jul 2006 09:54 GMT7
EEGADS!  Formula poop stinks!  Emily is 7 months now, and we have run out of
our frozen breastmilk so have transitioned over to formula.  She is also
enjoying many solids as well.  Almost instantly, the smell became so
overwhelmingly stinky it was a shock.  Now I am wondering the ...
One Year Marker19 Jul 2006 12:10 GMT2
Last week marks one year of nursing.
Ronnie is about 90% bf still, but this week is wanting to eat more and
more of the regular food. Brown Rice and Veg with Braggs are his
favorite, little bites here and there.
birth control??19 Jul 2006 07:38 GMT21
What type of birth control are all you breastfeeding moms using?
My daughter is 2 months old now, my doctor mentioned the options of the
mirena IUD or micronor (a mini pill).  We aren't ready to make a
permanent decision right now and I really don't want another child at

Here are some photos taken today.  We had Will's first birthday party on
the weekend and he got this little 3 wheel motorbike - he loves it and
makes "voom voom" sounds and everything :)
We had our mother's group group birthday party today... save everybody
Weaning Tips - for 19 months old18 Jul 2006 09:13 GMT8
Hello all, I used to frequent these boards alot with my first but when
#2 came along I seem to never have any time.  I have a question.  DD#1
self-weaned around 23 months (okay with a little helpful prodding), and
I was also 4 mo s pregnant, so there was probably no milk.  Now DD#2 ...
