| Honey I suckled the kids | 30 Aug 2006 11:40 GMT | 5 |
Well, DH and I watched the program last night. I was surprised how in to it DH was, and I was glad that he was as it gave us a good chance to discuss parenting. He was surprised how much of it he agreed with - and said, well, surely a

| Rotating stash -- good idea? | 30 Aug 2006 08:02 GMT | 8 |
I have heard it preached many a time that one should rotate their stash of frozen EBM. Okay, fine, makes sense. But what are the implications of this on the benefits of mom's antibodies? DS -cannot- get sick. A cold is fine, but croup, RSV, influenza, etc.,

| I couldn't wait... | 30 Aug 2006 04:47 GMT | 17 |
I meant to wait until Friday to take The Test, but my powers of delayed gratification failed me... Anyway, #2 appeared on the pee stick (which Micah then tried to eat), so according to the babycenter calculator, we should meet him/her around April 22. :) DH and I aren't telling

| mad - or not | 29 Aug 2006 22:54 GMT | 2 |
I've mentioned in passing that my DS, 3 1/4 is very small, we've got to the point where we are having further investigations. My biggest concern is not his absolute size, but what if he gets ill and then has problems because he has no resources to fall back on, it just

| OT; Dental work advice please | 29 Aug 2006 18:48 GMT | 4 |
My DD (4yo) needs some dental work done. She has 4 molars with cavities, and in one of them she needs what they are calling a "baby root canal", although it's apparently not really a root canal but a pulpectomy (sp?). Anyway, after having a traumatic time at the dentist I have ...

| DS refusing to eat | 29 Aug 2006 16:11 GMT | 8 |
Does anyone have experience with a BF 15 month old who won't eat much food? He picks at stuff and will eat a bit of what he normally eats, but no where near the miniscule amount he usually has. Yup, we try finger foods, spooning it in, TV, everything.

| can crying infant cause choking? | 28 Aug 2006 05:44 GMT | 16 |
Last night our 4 1/2 month baby cried so hard in the car that he started choking. I knew something was wrong while I was driving because he just suddenly stopped crying. Thank goodness his grandma was sitting in the back seat with him. She said something was wrong

| how many feeds a day for your baby...? | 28 Aug 2006 01:37 GMT | 9 |
It seems like it's really hard to find info about what is "normal" for breastfeeding an older baby. There's tons and tons of info about newborns -- how many feeding are normal, approximately how many minutes babies typically feed, etc. I know every baby's different -- heaven

| "Just a Taste" of Solids | 27 Aug 2006 23:29 GMT | 17 |
My six-month-old DS has just started solids. I'm just experimenting at the moment, so he's having a few spoonfuls of sweet potato each day this week, maybe potato then apple in the weeks to come. My question is about my parents and in-laws. Now that he's "on solids",

| Two years.... | 27 Aug 2006 06:37 GMT | 8 |
Well, I thought H as going to wean himself about a year ago ... and he has dropped to 2 feeds a day (sometimes more)... but we've made 2 years. K self-weaned at 18 months, so I'm quite pleased that H hasn't decided he's finished yet.

| Is rice milk suitable for baby starting solids? | 25 Aug 2006 07:17 GMT | 16 |
To me, it tastes much closer to breast milk than cows milk. The only concern I would have is it has salt listed as an ingredient. DD will be six months old in a week, and I think I'll try her on solids then -- she seems keen. Thanks,

| tonight on C5 | 25 Aug 2006 03:47 GMT | 23 |
There's a prog on Channel 5 (UK) tonight called "Honey I suckled the kids". A snatch of the synopsis: "This programme delves into a child-rearing phenomenon that intrigues and disturbs people in equal measure: 'attached parenting'(AP). The couples we

| Setting one's self up for failure? | 25 Aug 2006 01:25 GMT | 33 |
I am curious to hear other's perspectives. On another parenting board, where most of the members are young and first time moms, I read so often that they will 'try breastfeeding and if it doesn't go well, stop."

| nine months and no solids! | 25 Aug 2006 00:32 GMT | 7 |
Hi, have been feeding my son since birth (he is now nine months old) and my question is - is there something wrong if he hardly accepts solids? I fed my daughter - now aged 19 (!) until she was fifteen months old, and never had this problem. Is it boy babies who are the
