Dizzys(grieving)mamma15 May 2006 07:30 GMT11
Just got a call from my DD in FL.  Dizzy got out and was hit by a car and
killed today.  God!  I'm going to miss her!  Whoever hit her was decent
enough to move her out of the road.  Thank you, whoever you are, for letting
her keep her dignity.  She deserved that much.  A friend ...

Birthday Party14 May 2006 03:50 GMT21
There was a time where one could have a Birthday party at Mc Donalds or Burger
King for about 5-6 bucks a head but both of them stopped doing so and DD turning
10 was also getting a little old for that. So we looked and the cheapest place
we found in town was $28 a head. And that ...
Strong preference for one parent - advice needed (X-posted)14 May 2006 01:13 GMT24
We have a 4 1/2 year old daughter, P, who has always shown a very strong
preference for me (mum). I have never been her sole carer since I went back
to work when she was 5 months old. She is regularly looked after by Dad and
most of the time she deals very well with him when I'm ...

Driving13 May 2006 11:01 GMT7
I drove by the gas station this morning and saw $2.74.  "ouch, but I need
gas, I'll stop later." I thought.
Later I drive by the same station, $2.80.  "Ykes, that was fast, I can't
stop now, I'll have to get it later"  I thought.
Fundraising13 May 2006 01:58 GMT10
A couple of month ago DD e-mailed me a web-site link and then asked me to go
there - It was for a football camp with emphasis on being a linebacker... And
the price tag was $ 800.00 for the week.
So I told her that I don't have the money. If she wanted to go well she had to

Do either of you have any information relating to what Germans
do about after school care for their children?
Just curious about this since the kids get out of school at around
1 pm instead of 3 pm as they do here.  Is the school day really
Another story12 May 2006 19:55 GMT3
It's quite amazing sometimes on how DS (he has Aspergers) sees the world and the
people around him.
A little while back we were at Mc Donalds and he was playing on the slides there
and so was DD. There were also some other kids and they started to pick on him.
DS is 5!!!!12 May 2006 17:08 GMT4
