DD got a gameboy for Christmas. Her friends like to come and play on the gameboy, but DD has been told that it must not leave the house (except of course when we go on a car journey or something) and she must not lend the games out.

My bad, I forgot that Tiffany made the salient point that the claimed CS amount of $10,790 is *half* of the claimed amount " needed " to raise *one child*... So, let me correct my numbers, below...

My daughter is 9 and is getting to a point where she wants to pick clothes for herself. We were in a hurry yesterday and she needed a few new tops and pants, so my husband and I took her down to Sears with express purpose of looking at the Lands' End stuff. Well, it's between

I'm afraid I'm going to have to cry off the meet up on Sunday... I'm so sorry! Alex had his operation on Wednesday and although he is fine (thankfully) and it all went well, I can tell he is uncomfortable in the car seat even on

| Another special ed question | 28 Feb 2004 19:39 GMT | 10 |
Since I seem to have the special ed folks attention (thankyou for all the great help so far!), and at least one has mentioned speech therapy, I have a question about that too. My daughter (6yo) might need speech therapy. She pronounces all

| Headline for Sheila--Inherent Nurturers? | 28 Feb 2004 15:40 GMT | 2 |
The father is left to bury his children. This is not an isolated case but is more common than many care to acknowledge. Until family law judges get it through their heads that mothers are not always the best caretakers of the children, more children will be lost at the hands of ...

| Parents coddling teenagers (long) | 28 Feb 2004 12:45 GMT | 11 |
I am the aunt of three wonderful teenagers (girlA-17; girlB-15; boy 12). The parents are really great too, except for one thing that really bothers me: The mother drives the girls everywhere. The girls both have jobs, and I've seen the mother cancel plans (or refrain from

| reducing night feedings | 28 Feb 2004 02:05 GMT | 14 |
What's the best way of doing this? My kid weighs 22lbs, is 8months old and gets up 4 times a night. Don't feel comfy letting him CIO. I'll be happy with one night time feeding ;)

| What kind of car seat and where to put it | 27 Feb 2004 15:20 GMT | 8 |
I don't understand why I'm having so much trouble locating answers to my questions online! My son's father recently purchased a booster seat for my son to use in his car. My son is 3 years old and about 32 pounds.

| bad ofsted report | 27 Feb 2004 15:15 GMT | 15 |
The local primary school which I had assumed I would send DD to in 2 years (yes I'm planning ahead) has just had a terrible Ofsted report. Basically it said that the children are happy but not learning much. Which is so different from the report back in 1998.
