Swings and roundabouts (long)14 Jul 2004 02:15 GMT4
My life is...
It's been a weird week. Got my tax done last Wed and will get enough back to
finally go to the dentist (7 years late!). I'm pretty sure I need a filling.
Kev's getting a bit back too and, cos he had also put money aside in case he

No matter what I have done with my dd I can't seem to get her to eat beef.  She
will eat any other type of meat and we have beef atleast 3 times a week and all
she will eat is her veggies.  I try to give her a well balanced meal and I'm
getting worried that she may not be getting ...
Blow!14 Jul 2004 01:00 GMT9
We've been blessed to have DS in the wonderful day care on my work site for
the last 18 months, but unfortunately, no longer.  The centre is principally
there for the TAFE students, not TAFE staff, and DS has been bumped.  As of
next Monday, I have no day care.
How many had prior knowledge of the "system"?13 Jul 2004 19:54 GMT76
Just out of curiosity, how many of you dads knew about the gross
injustices of the modern-day "child support" system prior to being
trapped in it yourself?  And how many were utterly clueless about just
how bad it is for fathers?

Strange Question, not too OT13 Jul 2004 16:04 GMT9
We are planning to take Sophie to Disneyland for her 4th birthday/my mom's 66th
birthday next March.  Really, I just can't stand not going now that we are back
in CA, and it's just an excuse.
I was looking at a list of rides this morning with height requirements.  One
Small Children and Loss of Pet13 Jul 2004 16:01 GMT6
OK, it looks as though we've reached that stage. Our elderly dog (in his
16th year) needs to take his last trip to the vet in the next few days
(probably sooner rather than later) and we're wondering whether to get
someone to sit with Kit while we go or whether we ought to take him ...
Martial arts for pre-schooler?13 Jul 2004 15:47 GMT3
It has recently occurred to me that martial arts (if taught well)
might be a very good idea for my ds (just turned 3 yo).  I think he
would benefit from a lot of the attitudes (defensive use only,
self-control) as well as a good physical outlet for him.  I realize I
Relating to international travel of one parent w/kids13 Jul 2004 14:55 GMT6
Lizzard Woman's post is timely as we've been dealing with this lately.
Is the fact that they are US citizens relevant? Do the agents care
about non-US citizens returning to their country of origin?
I understand the need for an authorized letter from the non-travelling
Would you do it??13 Jul 2004 12:50 GMT11
Our old next door neighbours have asked/offered us to rent their home..
They have bought a house out of the area and are having trouble selling
their home.. They don't think it will sell quickly as you can't develop
the back of the block due to the fact that their used to be

Shocking News13 Jul 2004 09:51 GMT4
I found out today via the news that the brother of my best friend at High School and
his family and 2 kiddies (3 yrs and 21months) have been killed at what appears to be
a triple murder suicide.  As soon as his name was mentioned I thought to myself that
the name was familiar, but ...

Britax Roundabout Fabrics13 Jul 2004 02:22 GMT2
We're looking to purchase a Britax Roundabout online and wanted to get
some recommendations/feedback on the different fabric options.  We've
tried it out with our daughter at our local Babies R Us and really
like it, but they only had it there in a grayish suede-like fabric
