First birthday party, no gifts?30 Sep 2006 21:30 GMT15
We've just been invited to a first birthday party in Somerville, MA,
and the parents said no gifts.
I feel silly going to a child's birthday party and not bringing a gift.
I wouldn't want them coming to my daughter's party and not bringing a

11 month old SCREAMING baby--- What to do?!?!29 Sep 2006 21:24 GMT22
My wife and I have an 11-month-old boy. About 2 months ago he started
to scream occasionally, which we thought was kind of cute. It was a
happy scream, or at least not a bawling-his-head-off unhappy scream.
Well, since then it has gotten so much worse that it is driving us
"Normal" poos for a 15 months old?29 Sep 2006 20:50 GMT5
Not quite sure how to phrase this... LOL
My 15 month old DS does poos that are very runny. He's on a normal full diet
of solids with three milk feeds a day. I've heard that once kids are on a
"normal" diet their stools should be more solid rather than runny like those

changing doctors29 Sep 2006 02:36 GMT23
We are going to change Pillbug's pediatric neurologist.
I want to write a pretty harsh critique of the current
neurologist and let him know why we are changing.  Is
there any downside to doing this?

Hi! I am about to become a mom for the second time in early March and
am wondering which stroller is best for my kids. One will be, duh, a
newborn and I have a son that will be 18 months old. Any tips?? Thanks!
son in college28 Sep 2006 08:24 GMT1
To make a long story short, my 18 year old son received a full
scholarship to a college to play baseball.  He started school a month
ago.  I have just learned that he has been missing practices, skipping
classes and his coach is very upset.  I am afraid that he will be
math class from Hell (aka Banty's nightmare)28 Sep 2006 06:14 GMT122
Okay, I take it all back.  Well, not really, but at least I have
experienced the other side first hand now.  I was volunteering in my
son's classroom today (though he wasn't in there -- another peeve),
and I was flabbergasted at what the teacher wanted them to do.

toddler lost interest in chores28 Sep 2006 00:26 GMT3
My 3 year old likes to set the dinner table for us. she would put place
mats, take her and her sister's plates out of the dishwasher and take
two napkins (for her and sis). She did this every day for couple of
months. Now all of a sudden she doesn't want to do that anymore. When I
Seven month old struggling with solids27 Sep 2006 21:53 GMT19
I started introducing solids to my baby when she turned six months.
Initially she seemed thrilled to try something new and would happily
hum away as she was being spoon-fed.  Now, at seven months, it seems
every meal when we serve solids is a struggle.  The purees that she
Toddler girl shirts which aren't onsies?27 Sep 2006 20:56 GMT8
I have a rather small almost 2 yr old who is starting to do halfway decently
at toilet training, at least when she's wearing minimal clothes at home
(she's spent most of the last week or two in a 12 month sized t-shirt and
training pants). However, it's starting to get a bit chilly ...

Non-junk food and candy Halloween ideas?27 Sep 2006 15:56 GMT52
I really don't want to hand out sugar-laden snacks.  What do others do?
last year I bought some mini Play-Dohs but I am afraid some parents
might have a tizzy...
TIA for any ideas.
