| how angry should I be about this..... | 19 Jan 2007 00:43 GMT | 2 |
My daughters (7th & 9th grades) live with me in our home. Their mother left to continue an affair that she had while I was traveling for work in 2005. The girls had ring side seats to the affair since it was carried on in our house (not to mention the marital bed).

| Gift ideas needed asap please!! | 18 Jan 2007 19:49 GMT | 9 |
We're expecting guests tomorrow. They have an 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son. They are a bit of studious type and they like books. I don't know what to get the kids as a gift. My kids are much younger. I want to give them one single gift that's appropriate for both of them.

| IKEA diaper changing station (US) | 18 Jan 2007 17:21 GMT | 30 |
Does anyone in the US have an IKEA diaper changing table? Do you use the inflatable IKEA pad or have you found another? I ask specifically for the US because I've recently learned the standard US diaper changing table/pad is of course bigger than the

My son is 6 and in first grade. He's a bright energetic kid, outgoing and very friendly. He's doing well in school, but he can be a little overly sensitive. He's having a problem with a kid in his class who constantly makes fun of his curly hair. My son is pretty bothered by

| Am I crazy to think this is wrong? | 18 Jan 2007 00:07 GMT | 35 |
Would you give a 9 year old a laptop computer? Well, I wouldn't, but my son's school thinks it's perfectly sane to hand out Apple ibooks to fourth graders and expect them not to ever make a mistake. My son has been known to trip over his own feet, as many growing kids

| How to handle a cross-cultural parenting issue sensitively? | 18 Jan 2007 00:01 GMT | 27 |
My 5-year-old is in pre-school 3 days per week, and her teacher asked if we could give another child a ride. This other child is the daughter of the folks who run the local Chinese restaurant, which is about 3 blocks from my house, and preschool runs from 11:45 to 2:15,

| Trouble w/ baby's schedule | 17 Jan 2007 23:32 GMT | 29 |
I am having a bit of trouble establishing a routine for my almost 6 mo DS. Up until a few days ago, I was putting him down for a nap whenever he displayed signs of being tired. Now, I would like him on a more predictable schedule. Today I was hoping to get him down at 10 then 2 ...

| Enforcing visitation | 17 Jan 2007 19:57 GMT | 12 |
I'm about a week away from getting a final order on specific parenting time. The mother of my daughter has made it pretty obvious that she plans to have the child throwing a fit. She keeps asking if I'll take our daughter out "kicking and screaming" if she doesn't want to go.

I don't think I've posted much about ds' kindy experiences so far here. He's had a pretty good experience so far, thanks in large part to lots of parent-teacher communication. Ds (for those who aren't familiar with him) is quite intense, creative, and impulsive. His
