Anyone raising bilingual child?14 May 2008 17:58 GMT6
We speak mother tongue (MT) at home and kids (5, 3.5) are quite fluent

switch to English. I'm having to remind them constantly. They
understand the importance of MT because extended family is not fluent

Baby tired signs14 May 2008 10:47 GMT12
I think sometimes I'm letting Little Dude (now 7 weeks) get
overtired.  Around his bedtime in the morning and evening, he often
goes through a cycle of fuss -- feed -- fall asleep -- wake up several
times before he actually stays asleep.  I can bypass the cycle by
Seeking advice - cooking / feeding 1 yr old better13 May 2008 23:31 GMT30
Greetings from the U.S.
I think we feed our 1 year old pretty well, though I think there is
room for improvement so I'd like to ask for some advice. Note this is
fairly long.
Birthday parties13 May 2008 14:56 GMT27
(sheepish grin)
Okay, the thread about pinatas got me thinking.
My 8 year old has yet to have a "real" birthday party.  Her bday is
Feb. 14 so we've always just had the 4 of us do cake and presents
Does anyone ever think about innocent partners and children?13 May 2008 06:16 GMT18
To my dismay my partner was unfaithful to me, when he had a one night
stand with a fellow acquaintance.  To make matters worse an innocent

the child's life, and the mother has been on the dole for most of her

invites12 May 2008 12:34 GMT4
I'm convinced everyone is out to confuse me.
If I get an invite addressed to my son, I assume it's for my son, once
we had one that did say there would be food for adults, so it was
obvious adults were welcome, but I never did figure out whether we
Can I Save My Relationship11 May 2008 07:05 GMT1
What if you could recapture your ex lovers mind, heart and
soul?...Wipe the slate clean? Turn back time? Even if you feel right
now that your situation is too far gone…too screwed up …or just plain
too darn complicated?

friend moving, DS acting out10 May 2008 22:10 GMT31
DS's very best friend is moving next month.  DS knows this and is very upset
by it.  He's been moody and downright mean the last few days, constantly
getting time outs for hitting his sister or kicking the dog or some other
unacceptable act.  Yesterday, after a day of being ...
