After school activities for 6yr old30 Sep 2008 22:03 GMT27
How many times per week do you send your grade 1 kid to after school

I've put my son in minor hockey, the season will start next week. It is

I'm wondering if our son isn't getting a solid night's rest since he
cosleeps?
Our DS has been cosleeping with us from the beginning. I snore though
I lay face away so its not so bad, and it's not always a chainsaw
DS is quite the little helper - enjoy it while it lasts?29 Sep 2008 22:10 GMT2
Our 16 month old DS enjoys throwing away his diaper. Whenever he finds
bits of paper or other such trash he throws it away. He likes setting
the table (well at least carrying a spoon or plate to the table and
putting it up as best he can. He even does 2 or 3 quick claps after
Sardines OK for kids?29 Sep 2008 20:57 GMT1

I read somewhere that you can eat as much sardines as you want because
they don't have the problems that other fish too.
Private school vs SAHM?29 Sep 2008 09:21 GMT7
I know this is probably a good problem to have, since if we weren't fairly
stable financially, it wouldn't be an issue at all.
There is one specific school which, over the last few years, has been highly
recommended by quite a few people who have met DD as the perfect school for

how much to pay a babysitter28 Sep 2008 04:59 GMT6
What are people paying these days, I suspect there is going to be a
difference dependent on age and experience, but a ball park figure would
be helpful, I want to avoid insulting someone!
How would you feel about having two come? I'm not sure whether this will

The End of the Large Family ?26 Sep 2008 12:55 GMT72
We pay close to $800 a month for daycare. About $200 a week, which is
pretty much the average where we live.
And that's for 1 child.
We're probably going to have another, which will double the cost but
Injection after birth25 Sep 2008 13:07 GMT8
We were watching that sex education program on Ch 4 last night where
they showed a birth. What is the injection they give the mother
immediately after? There was clearly a nurse hovering with a needle -
and I have a vague memory of an injection myself but can't remember
A bad start to the school year24 Sep 2008 23:14 GMT16
I have already had a run in with the principal at our elementary
school, for not providing an a/c lunchroom for first graders when the
weather hit 107 for 3 days.
Honestly, I could not believe they made the kids eat outside in that
Child support...an obligation or a right or a privalege?24 Sep 2008 13:34 GMT33
I do not understand what is wrong with people these days. We should
all lead by example. Do you want your children to follow your example?
I was 1 of 5 children. I was 6 years old when my parents got a
divorce. Not only did my father pay child support and spousal support
Shh!  They're sleeping!  *knocks on wood*23 Sep 2008 17:06 GMT1
I believe I've whined and complained here about DDs and their sleeping...
Just a rundown...
They share a room... and have since DD2 graduated from beside me in my bed
into her own room/crib, and I think that was when she was about a year or so
