Thomas is here!22 Aug 2003 23:42 GMT5
Thomas was born at 14:27 weighing 7lbs 11 oz after a fast labour..no
stitches, no pain relief! We just made it to the hospital in time after I
suddenly went into active labour and boom there he was :)
He is a sweetie but very windy already and has only had one small feed, lots
UPDATE (Was: Re: Cruise in the 34th week of pregnancy)22 Aug 2003 21:05 GMT1
Sadly enough, the cruise booking agent called us back and said that "he was
very, very sorry, but he was mistaken, their policy is no pregnant ladies on
board after week 28".
We did talk to him several times before and he said he thinks the borderline
Help! Need Statistics on Safety of Midwife Births22 Aug 2003 20:45 GMT11
Went for my 10 week appointment with the OB today, and decided I am just not
going to stay with her. My first impression of her was very positive, but
today when I started to ask her about her c-section rates and epistiotomy
rates, her answers were not what I wanted them to be at ...
Babies getting bigger each time22 Aug 2003 19:11 GMT8
I had a c-section for my first baby beacause my son was too big for me
to deliver. When I went for my 6 week posnatal check up, I asked the
consultant what was the likelihood of me having another c-section. He
said that the chance was very high because the more babies I have the
About breastfeeding22 Aug 2003 15:12 GMT4
Ok.  For the past few nights, I have had dreams about breastfeeding my
babies.  In my first dream, only one of my babies would breastfeed, the
other's wouldn't and had to be bottle fed.  In my dream last night, I was
breast feeding my best friend's twin girls in order to "stimulate" ...
35 week update from Tiina22 Aug 2003 12:39 GMT8
.. which is kind of late, since I'm 36+1 by now. I also seem to have
changed my identity since DH had to redo all our mail and news stuff
last week. Yes, the blasted Blaster worm took over our computer, and it
took some time to get it sorted out, but it's still me,

Is it too late for pregnancy yoga?22 Aug 2003 02:30 GMT2
Does anybody have experience doing pregnancy yoga?
My friend gave me a video, "The Method" with Gurmukh. It looks
helpful, but I don't know if I should do yoga if I am seven months
pregnant. Thanks.
red raspberry leaf tea22 Aug 2003 01:11 GMT1
I've seen some posts about red raspberry leaf tea -- how many people
are drinking it?  Did you think it changed how labor went, if you had
it during a prior pregnancy?
When I was pregnant with ds I had a cup a day starting in the second
Maine Lobster and Pregnancy?21 Aug 2003 23:12 GMT9
I know, I know.. I've read all the 12oz. a week stuff  regarding shellfish in
numerous books and I have been quite prudent throught these last seven months
about avoiding high-mercury fish, uncooked fish, shellfish etc...
However, I will be in Maine for a week and I definitley want ...

Homebirth/Insurance/California21 Aug 2003 20:15 GMT3
My wife and I, living in California, are planning on another homebirth
for our second child, due in March. We've just "signed-up" with our
midwife, a direct-entry with several years of experience. She gave us
a call a bit ago, however, warning us that our insurer, Aetna, refuses
Length of gestation: correlation between pregnancies?21 Aug 2003 16:30 GMT10
Whew, that's an unwieldy subject line, but I couldn't think of anything
snappier. As someone who delivered #1 (spontaneously) at 41+4 weeks, I'm
wondering if that's *any* kind of indication of when I will deliver this
one. (I'm 36+2 today.)

and nothing interesting to report. Urine fine, BP excellent, no weight
gain, baby is just great (still engaged and looking at my right hip)
Next week my midwife will check me if I want and we'll see where we are
at. If I'm significantly dilated and effaced we'll probably
30 weeks21 Aug 2003 15:53 GMT2
Well, I couldnt resist joining with my tale. FINALLY, I'm at 30 weeks,
basically this means to me that I am almost in the single digits as far as
remaining time. 72 days!! Wow
I went to the Dr (midwife) and all was well, measured fine. I gained 4 lbs
