2/5 engaged26 Sep 2003 20:08 GMT5
I'm expecting my first baby and am currently 34 weeks gone. Is it
unusual for the baby to be 2/5 engaged already?(which mine is). Can it
be engaged for more that 6 weeks or so?. I've had a fairly trouble
free pregnancy, and haven't been pregnant before.
Blood pregnancy test ?26 Sep 2003 19:43 GMT9
I know urine pregnancy tests can be taken too early.  What about blood ones?
Can it be taken too early, come out as negative, when in fact the woman *is*
pregnant?
Thanks.

Well, Ben is 10 days old. I should write his birth story before I lose
all the details.
He was due sometime between September 5 and September 10. I had
myself convinced the whole pregnancy that he would come early. Ben had

Ultrasound results26 Sep 2003 14:53 GMT6
Well, we went and saw the munchkin this morning! It looks loads more
like a baby than it did at the first ultrasound, and more to the point
they could examine it for all sorts of things. They conclusively ruled
out the spectre of spinal bifida, said there were no markers of
First check26 Sep 2003 10:53 GMT8
I went for my first check-up at the birth center yesterday, and
spend quite some time waiting, since a woman was in labour upstairs
and there was only one midwife on duty. Didn't mind though, I'd
want her to be around when I go into labour too. The rest was
My 39 week update!26 Sep 2003 10:51 GMT5
I can't believe Im down to DAYS!! I feel so anxious but a little
apprehensive at the same time. Life with 3 kids? Im just hoping they take to

was amazing to see the little heart beating away! What an experience.
Even though I have done this before, it still takes my breath away.

hearing the heartbeat26 Sep 2003 02:32 GMT9
I went to see my doctor around 10 weeks and we were able to hear the
baby's heartbeat.  But yesterday at 14 weeks neither the nurse or
doctor could find a heartbeat.  The doctor says not to worry and come
back in 2 weeks to try again.  Has anyone heard the heartbeat at one
19-week Ultrasound26 Sep 2003 01:17 GMT17
I had an ultrasound today and the baby is healthy. The heartbeat was 147
and there were absolutely NO markers for Down's Syndrome nor any
abnormalities of any kind.
It's been a tense couple of weeks because I've been waiting on the
MIA26 Sep 2003 00:40 GMT5
Well, I'm going to be MIA for a while. We are moving today and are going to
be living with my parents until we can move into our new house (about 3
weeks). I'll try to keep up with the posts while I'm there but I just HATE
dial-up and get very frustrated with it very quickly. I'm ...

Thanks to all of you for replying to my post yesterday.
After speaking to my wife about it this evening and reading your posts I
have decided to wait for the next scan.
