All of the mystery around my spotting and cramps and tests has been cleared
up.  It turns out it was an ectopic pregnancy.  I miscarried the foetus on
Wednesday, but when I had a scan yesterday morning I still had a blockage in
my tubes of blood and tissue.  They admitted me to ...

Q re swimming and almost-healed episiotomy16 Dec 2003 12:15 GMT4
I meant to ask my doctor this morning, but I forgot...
I gave birth 7 weeks ago and my episiotomy is almost, but not quite,
healed. The doctor had a look at it this morning and confirmed that there's
just a small raw area, no infection, nothing to worry about. Now that the

Guess what I've got! I guess my case is milder than some I've heard
about - I'm not having locking hips, sciatica or back pain (yet) but
ouch, it sure does hurt. :o
Does anyone have experience with this and with good ways to minimize
Trivial vent - gardening16 Dec 2003 04:14 GMT15
Seed catalogues are torturing me!  Ok, not really, but since I'm due
in April, I keep thinking, Oh, I'll just put in a couple tomatoes and
try to keep up with the weeding, and put off anything else I'd like to
tinker with in the garden for next year.  Then I get these catalogs
Had to go to the hospital today.16 Dec 2003 04:11 GMT15
My spotting (bleeding) became worse this morning.  So, I was admitted to the
hospital for monitoring.
I never actually saw a doctor.  The OB nurse (who was wonderful) monitored
the girl's heartbeat and movement.

My 18 week ultrasound is Tuesday. I read on a pregnancy website that was
listing what happens at each week developmentally say that by now I should
have expected to gain 10-13 pounds. Yikes! I have not gained, and am
actually *still* down almost 10. I have stayed at 10 pounds below ...

First appointment15 Dec 2003 18:20 GMT16
Had my first appointment today although it almost didn't happen as the Dr
had to keep checking on a patient who was about to deliver.  She never did
in the hour + that I was there.
Anyway, went well, the usual - tons of questions, pap, and ultrasound.  Got
