BREASTFEEDING SSRIs pass into breast milk and some may occasionally cause unwanted side effects in nursing babies whose mothers take the drugs. These effects include vomiting, watery stools, crying, and sleep problems. Women who are breastfeeding

| baby sign language class - any good? | 14 Feb 2004 22:25 GMT | 10 |
Since my first pg and l&d are so fresh on my mind I'm not taking any lamaze/birthing classes. The hospital gives the bfing class for free after birth. We'll just take the hospital tour because it's free (eventhough it's not necessary because I'm using the same hospital

| Low amniotic fluid -- two encouraging signs | 14 Feb 2004 21:27 GMT | 1 |
After two days of taking it really easy -- basically lying down or sitting down all day -- two encouraging things: -- I'm feeling the baby move more, which might suggest there's more room for him/her to move, which would mean more amniotic

I'm putting my 16 month old into nursery. He's the sweetest bb on earth (for mummy that is..) and he's having a very bad time. I'm pregnant, doing a demanding course and have no family around to give me a hand. I have to put him into nursery. I need the time for this

One of my good friends just had a baby boy today! She was induced at 39 weeks due to preeclampsia and ended up having an emergency c-section because the baby's heart rate dropped significantly. It turns out the baby was trying to come out face first. Her mother (a nurse) was talking ...

| First pregnancies are typically overdue - this must be tosh. | 14 Feb 2004 20:06 GMT | 8 |
Our midwife said that first pregnancies are most often a week or so overdue. Surely this must be crap? Why wouldn't the obstetrician simply say "Oh, seeing as this is your first pregnancy lets make the due date the

All of the threads lately on allowing/refusing various tests and cervical checks have had me thinking a lot about how to decide which checks to allow for the rest of my pregnancy. Along the way, I've had some tests, and refused others. But now I am curious... Has anyone here ...

I'm only joking of course but what's with all of the unrelated anti-depressant posts taking up so much space?! Sheesh! I know I can kill-file them but I don't get the purpose of them being posted in the first place. Aren't there already newsgroups that are

| Re:Baby size/difficulty of delivery... | 14 Feb 2004 00:21 GMT | 5 |
Sorry to branch this post out into another one but after reading all of the stuff about the mother's birthweight being a factor, I got really scared. I was a really big baby (almost 10 lbs!) but I was carried 30 days past my due date (in 1972). My OB assures me that no

| Baby size/difficulty of delivery | 13 Feb 2004 18:12 GMT | 10 |
I was just reading the thread from last week about u/s predicting weight (and how inaccurate they are), and I wanted to ask a question. I'd been under the impression that the baby's weight isn't really a huge factor in how hard or easy
