Book question--good medical reference??10 Apr 2004 05:37 GMT7
I think I'm going to purchase the same 3 books Carol Ann just did- I have
been researching but have yet to have bought anything except pregnancy
books. The ones rec'd to her look great!
One thing I want that I'm not sure they cover, is some kind of a
alternatives to 100% breastfeeding10 Apr 2004 05:30 GMT83
OK, I hate to say this, but practically everything I read on this ng
about breastfeeding is actually turning me away from it.  (perhaps it's
good that I read all of this *before* diving into the situation, so I
thank everyone, even though this is probably not the reaction that ...
Bf supply question....10 Apr 2004 04:40 GMT12
I know this is a repeat question, sorry-- I haven't had time to google and I
haven't yet intro'd into MKB.
I think I have all the basic, minimal supplies I will need for
breastfeeding. I still plan to take a breastfeeding class from the hospital
silly question about delivery10 Apr 2004 04:21 GMT23
Not that it matters or anything...BUT can you leave you hospital gown on
and just pulled up during delivery and or your bra?
it seems like in all the baby shows I watch, the ladies are totally
nude.....I know when you're in that kinda of pain it should be the LAST
GBS+  grrrrrr!10 Apr 2004 04:00 GMT10
Received the unfortunate news yesterday that I am positive for group B
strep. Luckily this in and of itself will not change my eligibility to
deliver at the birth center, as they can administer the IV antibiotics
there. What is not good is that I tend to have a vaso vagel/passing ...

AAARRGGHH!  HMO probs.10 Apr 2004 01:26 GMT8
I'm just venting here. I'm 38+ weeks along, and all the physical discomforts
of pregnancy so far (swollen EVERYTHING, fatigue, stuffy nose, carpal
tunnel) are not nearly so debilitating as having to deal with my HMO.  I am
in a state-sponsored program, and am financially pretty much ...
I've only been posting for09 Apr 2004 15:53 GMT2
8 months now...lol..) so i'm kinda new to all this, and it has been a
great experience BUT...I notice some posts and links...I wont mention

question about epidurals09 Apr 2004 15:37 GMT4
I went to see my midwife yesterday, and she suggested that I go for some
sort of consult regarding epidurals.  Although I don't plan to have one,
it's a good idea to be prepared.  The reason for this consult is because
of the abnormal curvature (only slight) and calcification ...
I think this might be it!09 Apr 2004 09:00 GMT8
Well, this might be the night!  I woke at 2 am (an hour ago) with a
contraction, and they are about 15 minutes apart, 20-30 seconds long.
I was having several throughout the evening, too. This definitely
feels more real, and a lot like it was with ds.

Birth center closing09 Apr 2004 03:03 GMT16
Just yesterday I got a letter telling me that the Baltimore Birth Center,
the only stand-alone midwife practice in the area, will close in May. They
can no longer pay for their medical malpractice insurance. I really cannot
grasp that a practice that has provided excellent care for ...
NB clothing question09 Apr 2004 01:58 GMT14
I have a ton of 3-6 months sized clothing and onesies and a good supply of
sizes larger than that, too. People were great about not giving us the tiny
size clothing and I was afraid to buy much of it myself as well since I
don't want to be wasteful.
Nappy/diaper bag?08 Apr 2004 22:52 GMT5
Wondering if anyone had recommendations for a nappy/diaper bag, as I've
been given a voucher and thought I'd get a fancier new bag, rather than
something plainer or second-hand.  Any handy features that you think are
necessary?  And likewise, any features which are generally ...
Baby too small?08 Apr 2004 22:26 GMT17
I have just had an appointment with my midwife.  Last fortnight she said I
had to rest with my feet up for 1 hour per day as the baby was small.
He still hasn't grown much so she has scheduled me for another ultrasound.
The appointment isn't for another 2 weeks.
