I'm not, because I think adults should be able to do whatever stupid
things with their own lives that they like
Need serious advice08 Apr 2004 17:04 GMT6
I gave birth to my first son on the 11th of March after 31 hours of
all natural labor. He weighed 8lbs 1 oz. I began breastfeeding right
away and he latched on perfectly. At about 4 days old DS started to
get really fussy. I believed he was not getting enough to eat and
this made me cry...08 Apr 2004 15:57 GMT8

What a brave woman!  (How sad the state of affairs
that their health care system -- or lack thereof -- drove
her to this!)
Georgetown U. Hospital firing their midwives08 Apr 2004 15:20 GMT2
Sad news... Georgetown University Hospital has decided to fire the midwives
it has on staff.  These are the midwives who attended my VBAC attempt.
They provided excellent care.  What a loss for DC-area women.

sciatica (I think)08 Apr 2004 15:08 GMT5
Yowie!
I keep getting this shooting pain in my right buttock and leg ... like a
nerve has been caught between my hip bone and pelvis.  Is this sciatica?
I'm fine sitting or lying or even standing, but sometimes when I walk it

Just wondering if I am missing a post or if she has not gotten around to
posting about her appt?  Sophie, I hope all went well and you found some

Pelvic Floor Exercises08 Apr 2004 10:52 GMT2
I have seen post about people doing pelvic floor exercise and pelvic rocks.
What exactly are these? I just always assumed they were kegels but now I am
thinking they are not. What is the benefit of them and how exactly do I do
them?
recent m/c: how are you?08 Apr 2004 03:12 GMT48
After all Mary's threads on monthly updates, I didn't see any place where
I could put my update. I'm not TTC, not pregnant, but had two m/c's in the
last five months. I still find it hard to not be pregnant and
systematically skip any pregnancy announcement here. Not that I am not

Stretch Marks in 2nd pregnancies07 Apr 2004 23:05 GMT6
With pregnancy #1 I was very fortunate not to get a single stretch mark. I
was very diligent about using Dr. Palmers lotion every morning and night.
Should I be concerned about getting stretch marks this time around? I would
think it is a possibility but unlikely since my skin has ...
We're nearly there.07 Apr 2004 23:03 GMT2
Unless the baby opts to pop early, we're going in on Friday for the
C-section.  Thank goodness, it sounds like everything is going to work
out.  I've got childcare arranged for the weekend -- a friend is going
to help out my DH.  DH is going to be there the first day, for the
When do bh's become "real"?07 Apr 2004 20:27 GMT26
I've been having way more BH/irregular contrax for about 4 days now.
(Morning and at night instead of just at night..) Some are mild, others
are not so mild. They may come close together, or far apart, may be mild
and barely noticeable or harsh and painful.
ultrasound results from me - yay!07 Apr 2004 18:12 GMT15
Everything is just fine with the baby!  The only potential problem is
that my placenta is lying low.  I'll need to go in for another
ultrasound later on to make sure that it has moved (otherwise it's
c-section time for me, boohoo).  And now, I *have* to share this...  For
