Crying at bedtime05 Aug 2004 02:20 GMT1
For the past several nights, my 3 mo old (going on 4 mos) has been crying
terribly when I put her down to bed for the night.  In the past she would
quietly fall asleep.  Everything checks out okay (clean diaper, fed,
burped).  I don't understand what could be wrong.  Is this normal ...
Litter boxes?05 Aug 2004 00:51 GMT13
My husband is going to be out of town for a few days. Is is safe for me to
scoop the litter boxes (indoor-only cats, commercial diet) while he's out of
town, or should I call my petsitter and arrange for her to come by and do it
(which would feel really weird while I'm at home)?
Colds, pregnancy and toddlers.04 Aug 2004 22:20 GMT7
DD (19 months) has a stinking cold, with a blocked nose, cough, and really
watery eyes.  So I know what I am in for soon (oh joy).  Can anyone tell me
if Vicks Vapourub (rubbed on the chest) is safe to use?  The ingredients
listed are menthol, camphor, eucalyptus oil, turpentine oil ...

clicking noises in belly04 Aug 2004 21:38 GMT11
OK, this may sound weird, but my baby makes clicking noises.  The noise
has occured twice that I know of.  It always happens when the baby is
kicking up a storm.  I asked my midwife, and she said that she doesn't
know what it is, but that other women have mentioned the same thing ...
Cloth diaper question04 Aug 2004 21:35 GMT17
(This is kind of OT; but I know there are some cloth users here.)
Emily is 10 weeks old now, and has been blessing us with huge chunks of
sleep at night - often, no kidding, 10 hours at a time.  While this is
pretty nice for Mom and Dad, it does tend o leave her with an
Questions on cloth diapers04 Aug 2004 21:30 GMT13
I've been looking at cloth diapers, especially the preshaped ones with
covers and the all-in-ones online, but I have a few questions. I absolutely
do NOT want anything requiring pins.  There are NO diaper services here, so
I would have to do all the laundry at home. I will be home ...
allergy food crisis... wah! help!04 Aug 2004 18:35 GMT17
Food is becoming like a *major* crisis for me.
Background: I have a ton of allergies, including allergies to dairy, peanut,
lobster, hazelnuts, strawberries and probably a couple other things i'm not
thinking of right at the moment.
Birth announcement: Baby Harry is here!04 Aug 2004 16:09 GMT14
My beautiful boy Harry was born on Wednesday July 28 (one day past due) at

Questions about baby shower03 Aug 2004 21:38 GMT23
Has anyone ever had their shower after the baby? My MIL is insistent that we
do it after (Jewish superstitious tradition), but everone else is
encouraging me otherwise. It doesn't really matter so much to me, and I am
not eager to make war with MIL (and it would be ugly). Since I am ...
insurance question03 Aug 2004 18:57 GMT4
I was wondering if anyone has gotten temporary insurance during pregnancy?
My student health insurance runs out on Sept. 18, and my husband's new
job's coverage doesn't begin until Oct. 1.  The baby's not due until
November, but the 2-week gap makes me nervous!!  We don't qualify ...
It's a girl! 18 week update03 Aug 2004 16:15 GMT11
Based on the Ultrasound, it's a girl! (The sonographer thinks, anyway-she
wasn't being very cooperative today). Everything looks great
developmentally, and my blood cell counts, blood pressure, and enzyme levels
look great too. She's measuring a bit over the expected size/weight for ...

Equipment, equipment, equipment03 Aug 2004 12:21 GMT162
Well, DH & I have reached the stage of starting to look at stuff in the
shops and think about what to get for the new arrival (due November).
This is our first.  Any tips from anyone who's been there and done that?
Anything you really wish, in retrospect, you had/hadn't bought?  ...
