| DH's parental leave | 23 Aug 2004 02:43 GMT | 66 |
That's it: quite in advance, because he always feels he "owes" something to his boss and colleagues, DH has announced to them that he will be taking a two-months parental leave (January and February 2005). He will also be taking one week of vacation after I give birth in November. ...

| Crossed eye | 22 Aug 2004 17:38 GMT | 4 |
One of my baby's eyes tends to cross in towards her nose. It's not extremely pronounced, but enough for me to be able to tell that it's not straight. It occurs mainly when she's looking off to the side or looking up at me. I've read that premies tend to have this problem and that ...

| New to this Newsgroup | 21 Aug 2004 21:06 GMT | 1 |
Hi everyone. I'm in the UK, 16 weeks pregnant with my 6th child. My oldest will be 15 when the baby is born and there will be a 7 year age gap between my youngest and the new baby! I have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and take 150 mcg thyroxine for that. Anyone else using ...

| has anyone else experienced *this* pain?... | 21 Aug 2004 04:38 GMT | 2 |
The baby is putting odd pressure on my left side. I feel pain when I try to inhale fully. DH wonders if it's pressure on the diaphragm. I probably still have an enlarged spleen (long story, but let's just say that my spleen is not a normal size and hasn't been for at least a ...

| Just a little DH rant | 21 Aug 2004 03:49 GMT | 67 |
I have been holding off on this one because DH ticked me off yesterday (ok not hard to do i am 31 weeks pregnant;)) When I was in labor with Bonnie I kept getting left alone and i did not like it. DH pointed out that it was never for more then 6 minutes (cig breaks) but I felt ...

| 28 week appt and PIH Update | 21 Aug 2004 03:24 GMT | 11 |
Well, first of all, thanks to everyone for the BP lowering/PIH advice. I am drinking more water, trying to rest more, and taking more magnesium. I am not as swollen as I was that one day. And at my appointment today, I was not spilling protein, and my BP was 128/80.

| formula in the mail | 20 Aug 2004 22:22 GMT | 111 |
Today I got a package in the mail. I was kind of excited because I never get packages in the mail, then I opened it and saw it was baby related so that was great too. Till I opened it and discovered a container of formula. How do they even get my address?? I'm not planning to use ...

| rough night (rant, so ignore if not in the mood) | 20 Aug 2004 22:08 GMT | 16 |
OMG this had *better not* continue. Last night was so painful that I begged for contractions. Everything in my pelvic area (pubic bone especially) was just horrible and wouldn't stop. I'm assuming that the baby is lower and is putting more pressure on everything.

| Question for Ericka, Larry, or anyone else who knows the literature | 20 Aug 2004 15:50 GMT | 33 |
Posted this over at mkb, but no luck so far, so I thought I'd ask here even though it's not entirely on topic for a pregnancy group: It seems to be accepted wisdom among breastfeeding advocates that bottle introduction should be left to 4 - 6 weeks to reduce the risk of 'nipple

| Red raspberry leaf tea | 20 Aug 2004 11:54 GMT | 7 |
Does this stuff *really* do any good? I haven't been able to find studies or anything. I'm forgetting what the useful dose is supposed to be -- I seem to recall it's the more the merrier, and a really long steeping time?

| Where have all the doctors gone? | 20 Aug 2004 11:51 GMT | 5 |
Sometimes I search for info on this ng before asking a question. In old posts (as in older than year 2000), sometimes I see replies from OBs, MDs and Doctors in general. What happened in the last few years? They just decided they are not needed here or not being heard? If they

| Weird dreams | 20 Aug 2004 11:48 GMT | 21 |
Has anyone else had weird dreams while pregnant? The other night I woke up crying 'cos I dreamt something had happened to DD. And last night, I dreamed that 2 Olympic athletes had commited suicide. I'm guessing it is a hormone/stress thing, but I don't like it.

| Maternity clothes? | 20 Aug 2004 11:24 GMT | 23 |
So far I've checked out the maternity clothing sections of Mamas and Papas, & Mothercare. Mamas & Papas didn't seem to have anything worth buying. Mothercare was a lot better, & I got a pair of maternity jeans & a decent pair of navy trousers which should see me through a lot ...
