birth/newborn momento-type advice06 Sep 2004 20:24 GMT36
I'm brainstorming what I'd like to do differently this time around, and
am coming up with a list of stuff that we forgot, overlooked, or just
didn't think of in the rush of becoming parents, with Sproutkin.
Here's the short list so far:
Bedtime/Playtime?06 Sep 2004 16:37 GMT28
I don't really have a question but more of an observation.  Every
night after all of our bedtime rituals (bath, feeding, changing etc)
when ever we put Victor down in his crib he instantly starts turning
on the charm (cooing, smiling, giggling) it is SO hard to turn down
Fetal movement06 Sep 2004 13:42 GMT6
When could you possibly begin to see the baby move on ultrasound?  I know
"quickening" usually doesn't happen until 20 wks or so, but the baby must be
moving a lot earlier than that.
Dealing with politics and pregnancy06 Sep 2004 13:33 GMT22
I am *seriously* tempted to completely turtle and quit reading any news,
watching news on TV, and ditching most of my internet groups until the
election is *over*... I find myself getting *really* upset by the whole
thing. The RNC is making it far worse this week. Last election, I ...
Drool06 Sep 2004 06:01 GMT15
This is disgusting, but I was wondering . . .
WHY would being pregnant cause me to drool more while I'm sleeping?  I mead,
we're talking bad enough to wak me up and have to turn the pillow over!  It
started almost as soon as I was pregnant but is getting worse and worse.  I

Just to let you know that we're reissuing the original and unabridged
edition of Grantly Dick-Read's 'Childbirth without Fear' tomorrow.
Please forgive me posting here, but it's a book that is mentioned here
quite regularly and I thought you may be interested. Details are at
question for Canadians - birth certificates, SINs, and RESPs06 Sep 2004 03:11 GMT9
We want to start an RESP for Max.  (RESP = registered educational
savings plan, for those who don't know)  The problem is that we need a
social insurance number.  AFAIK, to get a SIN, you need a birth
certificate.  Unfortunately, we've been warned that the office that
Painful Gas06 Sep 2004 02:46 GMT21
For the past 6 hours I have been suffering dreadfully from a big trapped gas
bubble.  It seems to be mostly on the left side of my abdomen but sometimes it
moves around and that is worse.  I know it sounds crazy to complain about gas
pains but this is excruciating.  And when the ...
Husband is sick06 Sep 2004 02:23 GMT4
My husband came home with a stomach virus...ugh. I already called my
OB/Midwife practice, and the OB on call said that it should be OK for me to
be up long enough to take care of meals etc as long as I watch my blood
pressure and don't overdo it (bedrest and a sick husband are NOT

We've decided that it's time to try and have another baby, Nathanael is
now 15 months old and I've decided to stop working (I had the option to go
full time or stop completely, I decided no way was it a good thing for
Nathanael for me to work full time). I'm not too concerned ...
weight gain05 Sep 2004 19:59 GMT27
which is worse, gaining too much and struggling to lose it afterwards or
not gaining enough?
and how much is enough? is it better to consider a percentage of starting
weight, or a fixed amount? or should a pregnant woman have a target body
Timing Questions05 Sep 2004 19:24 GMT6
DH and I have started ttc.  We decided mid month and BD'd the day after I
believe I ovulated (had pain on one side, EW mucos etc.).  According to
TCOYF (we are trying for a boy) you should BD the day of and a "few days
after" you ovulate for the best chances of having a boy.  I am ...

continues to spread.  I have it other places too in small amounts, but I can
