| to have amnio. or not | 29 Sep 2004 13:36 GMT | 55 |
Any advice on or experiences with amniocentesis? My blood tests came back with an elevated risk for Down's Syndrome (I'm 30, my risk was what they would have expected for a 34 yr. old). I am scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow and depending on what that tells us, my husband ...

| Naming Ceremonies, help | 29 Sep 2004 11:19 GMT | 15 |
As neither family is particularly religious, I'd like to organise a naming ceremony for Ana instead of a christening at the end of October, when she'll be nearly four months old. It won't be anything particularly formal with a celebrant, just a gathering of our friends and family, ...

| 30 week appointment | 29 Sep 2004 09:48 GMT | 5 |
Oh my goodness - does that mean I'm officially in the third trimester now?! The appointment was really good, but the midwife and I talked too much and I forgot to discuss birth plans. I got my blood test results back, and they were laughable - iron is higher than it was many times ...

Hi all, Well, we finally gave up trying to get clamps and make the Jenny Lind crib work (other post on this group). Thanks to all that tried to help, we just never could get it to feel as sturdy and stable as we wanted.

| Why does everything go wrong when you're trying to save money?! | 28 Sep 2004 21:06 GMT | 26 |
So far this week we have had to call out the plumber to fix a broken pipe, I've been told the cat badly needs dental treatment, and now the video player, my sanity saver giving me 1/2 an hour to cook tea, has died and needs replacing. We were trying to save a little for the new ...

| VBAC labors quicker? | 28 Sep 2004 20:44 GMT | 5 |
The full question is a little more specific. I know that not every woman will have a quicker labor the second or subsequent times, but that does seem to be the general trend. In my first labor I was supposedly stuck at 6 cm for 4 hours. Second labor,

| pain from laparoscopy scars | 28 Sep 2004 00:28 GMT | 1 |
this probably seems quite minor to those with c-section scars, but I understand that you are not supposed to get pregnant til at least a year after a c-section, but my laparoscopy was 3 months ago, one incision is in my belly button and that has been fine, but I do get a little ...

| Airplane travel during the second trimester | 27 Sep 2004 21:33 GMT | 6 |
I have seen a lot about cautioning against travel in the first and third trimesters, but not much about the second. Is this safe? If not, what makes it not safe? I will be talking to my doctor about it too, of course, but I wondered what opinions people here have about taking a ...
