to have amnio. or not29 Sep 2004 13:36 GMT55
Any advice on or experiences with amniocentesis?  My blood tests came back
with an elevated risk for Down's Syndrome (I'm 30, my risk was what they
would have expected for a 34 yr. old).  I am scheduled for an ultrasound
tomorrow and depending on what that tells us, my husband ...
Naming Ceremonies, help29 Sep 2004 11:19 GMT15
As neither family is particularly religious, I'd like to organise a naming
ceremony for Ana instead of a christening at the end of October, when she'll
be nearly four months old. It won't be anything particularly formal with a
celebrant, just a gathering of our friends and family, ...
30 week appointment29 Sep 2004 09:48 GMT5
Oh my goodness - does that mean I'm officially in the third trimester now?!
The appointment was really good, but the midwife and I talked too much and I
forgot to discuss birth plans.  I got my blood test results back, and they
were laughable - iron is higher than it was many times ...
Crib opinions29 Sep 2004 04:36 GMT6
Hi all, Well, we finally gave up trying to get clamps and make the
Jenny Lind crib work (other post on this group).  Thanks to all that
tried to help, we just never could get it to feel as sturdy and stable
as we wanted.

How are you feeling this month, three-monthers?  You're almost out of
the first trimester
(depending on how you count) -- still feeling sick and tired, or are you
starting to pick up?  Do you look pregnant?  Heard the heartbeat yet, or
Why does everything go wrong when you're trying to save money?!28 Sep 2004 21:06 GMT26
So far this week we have had to call out the plumber to fix a broken pipe,
I've been told the cat badly needs dental treatment, and now the video
player, my sanity saver giving me 1/2 an hour to cook tea, has died and
needs replacing.  We were trying to save a little for the new ...
VBAC labors quicker?28 Sep 2004 20:44 GMT5
The full question is a little more specific.
I know that not every woman will have a quicker labor the second or
subsequent times, but that does seem to be the general trend. In my
first labor I was supposedly stuck at 6 cm for 4 hours. Second labor,
My friend had her baby today!28 Sep 2004 19:44 GMT9

Experts needed to volunteer in answering questions28 Sep 2004 05:57 GMT4
There is a free question-answering webiste at www.wondir.com. A
significant percentage of the questions asked there concern
relationships, sexuality, and pregnancy, and many of those questions
are asked by young or poorly educated people. Please consider
16 weeks pregnant/Complications28 Sep 2004 04:44 GMT4
I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I know the baby is supposed to move a little
bit, but i feel like its kicking and i don't think its normal. I feel
it "kicking" in different places and sometimes its one hard "kick" and
sometimes its a lot of "kicks". It happens all through out the day and
pain from laparoscopy scars28 Sep 2004 00:28 GMT1
this probably seems quite minor to those with c-section scars, but I
understand that you are not supposed to get pregnant til at least a year
after a c-section, but my laparoscopy was 3 months ago, one incision is in
my belly button and that has been fine, but I do get a little ...
Oh Mary where are you??27 Sep 2004 21:48 GMT31
Haven't seen a post from Mary S in the last day or so (or maybe I'm missing
more posts than I think I am).
Can we start assuming yet??
(If you are still "intact" - here's some labour vibes~~~; If you are in
Airplane travel during the second trimester27 Sep 2004 21:33 GMT6
I have seen a lot about cautioning against travel in the first and third
trimesters, but not much about the second.  Is this safe?  If not, what
makes it not safe?  I will be talking to my doctor about it too, of course,
but I wondered what opinions people here have about taking a ...
