Using 2nd hand bottles04 Oct 2004 01:18 GMT22
I should initially state that I intend to breastfeed. But this time, I hope
to give an occasional bottle of expressed milk (or rather, I hope someone
else will!).  I was given 6 Avent bottles that have been well used (I have
an Isis pump).  As they can be sterilised, it doesn't seem ...
34-week midwife appointment04 Oct 2004 01:12 GMT1
The midwife came round today as promised, and got all my booking details
as well as doing the 34-week check.  She spent ages chatting - must have
been more than an hour and a half altogether.  I raised DH's concerns
about me going to the birthing centre instead of the hospital, ...
Hospital tour03 Oct 2004 17:26 GMT7
Some people might remember me mentioning that I want to tour the
hospital maternity ward just in case there's a complication & I end up
there instead of in the birthing centre.  I rang up the midwife today,
and it seems I'll be allowed to gatecrash the NCT (National Childbirth
'flu Vaccines for children03 Oct 2004 16:18 GMT8
I'm based in the UK and we have a 3 year old daughter who developed a Heart
Valve problem following a virus when she was an infant. She's fine now and
on meds, but at some stage in the future she'll need surgery unless a
miracle comes along.

>> Oohhh tough one since you have one of each.  I'll say another boy.
> Really!  That's what my hunch is!  I guess that settles it.  :-)
WRONG!
I am thrilled to announce the birth of my new daughter Lilah.  (DH and
How do you tell you are pregnant again?03 Oct 2004 10:52 GMT8
I have a question for second time mothers. I had my first baby 11 months
ago and have been breastfeeding all this time. Up to now, I haven't had my
period. My husband and I are ready for the second baby. I was wondering
how I could tell that I am pregnant again if I don't wish to ...
I can't read instructions03 Oct 2004 10:01 GMT4
I was feeling soooo grotty last night my hubbie made me take the 2nd test,
so I did, but I did it wrong, it's a dip style one, you dip for 10 seconds
and leave for 3 minutes, oops I dipped for 3 minutes, I doubt that this can
make the test give a false negative though, so we are ...
old breast pump...new baby03 Oct 2004 02:35 GMT4
i am hoping someone here can help me...
i had heard a while back that if you had a breast pump you had to get it
sterilzed for each new baby....

POLL:  What's in your wish-I-hadn't-wasted-my-money pile?03 Oct 2004 01:53 GMT148
What's in your wish-I-hadn't-wasted-my-money pile?
Bottles:  I wished I had learned that we DON'T need bottles!  LOL!  I bought
so many (in different sizes) before I realized Morgan wouldn't ever need
one.  So, thankfully, I only opened one box.
6 weeks left!!!02 Oct 2004 18:47 GMT17
im getting very excited.im sick of people asking when im due and telling
me how big i am.even people i dont know come up to me. and what really
irritates me is when someone asks when im due and then tell me someone

She's finally arrived!!02 Oct 2004 17:35 GMT26
My baby was born yesterday!!  Birth story to come later, but basic
low-down:  7 hour labor and completely drug-free.  8 lbs 15.1 oz & 21
inches long.  It was an amazing experience, and I almost hate to admit
that I am already excited to do it again.
33 weeeks (and 4 days) appointment (a bit long)02 Oct 2004 16:50 GMT5
Well, here we are.  I had an appointment with my "backup" midwife this
morning (she's the one who'll be in charge in case Baby decides to come
around when my regular midwife is not available - which is almost NEVER).
I am so grateful for midwives. After my last experience with the ...
car seat troubles02 Oct 2004 13:53 GMT7
I am driving a 95 Nissan Sentra, 2 door.  This has to be the worst car to
try and fit a car seat into.  I bought an Evenflo portabout 5 because I like
the handle and the 5 point harness system.  However, there is absolutely no
way I can keep it.  It just will not fit in the back ...
27 weeks-a bit scary at the appointment, but OK02 Oct 2004 13:45 GMT9
Things still look good, with no real signs of pre-eclampsia. We're still
seeing some labile BP, but overall, it seems to be happily staying in the
120's/80's, which, while a bit high, isn't a concern. The baby is quite
active
I can't believe the test was negative02 Oct 2004 13:35 GMT6
still no AF, I'm mildly constipated, totally exhausted, a bit nauseous, got
up in the night to go to the loo (and have done for a few nights in a row),
I am really tempted to use the other test in the packet today and not wait
til next week. If I'm not preg I really want AF to ...
