UK/EU maternity benefits23 Nov 2004 12:51 GMT6
I'm a teacher doing supply work in the UK (no permanent contract) and I have
just found out I am pregnant. Now I am worried I won't be entitled to any
maternity benefit. Does anyone know what I am entitled to? Would it be
different if I were on a temporary contract?

38 week visit 23 Nov 2004 04:40 GMT3
Well I went in for the visit today. BP looks good, no protein in urine, lost
a pound from last week, baby is still head down, and I agreed to an internal
as I was curious as to what was going on in there. I've had some pretty
intense BH contractions on and off. I'm about 3 cm ...
help me not worry...23 Nov 2004 00:19 GMT18
First, when people told me that motherhood would mean that I would worry
a lot more, they were *right*!  ;-)
OK, remember, this is my first kid, so I have no idea what's normal.
Max has suddenly started sleeping a *lot*.  Bed time is around
pregnancy diabetes!!22 Nov 2004 23:55 GMT2
I am 10 weeks pregnant and when the midwife checked my first urine sample

a glucose test. I was told not to eat anything from midnight, Which I did
not eat or drink anything. Tuesday at 9:15am they took some ...

What a day -tired and emotional rant.22 Nov 2004 20:35 GMT14
Well yesterday turned out to be quite a day.  DD has been unwell for a week
or so, with unexplained high temps, a cold and off food etc.  Only yesterday
would she let me feel for teeth - and I think her final 3 molars have popped
through.  I'm hoping that explains the illness and ...
whether to start solid food yet?22 Nov 2004 19:10 GMT11
Looking for opinions, please:
Harry has just turned 4 months old (how time flies!). We are

solid food yet, but his doctor has been trying to talk me into it.
How long does it take to detox from soy before it's safe to get pregnant?22 Nov 2004 18:28 GMT6
I have decided to stop consuming soy because I read that soy protein
is has been shown to pose potential hazards regarding thyroid function
in children and adults, fetal and neonatal brain development, and
sexual maturation & differences.  Soy also failed its evaluation by
