I'm a teacher doing supply work in the UK (no permanent contract) and I have just found out I am pregnant. Now I am worried I won't be entitled to any maternity benefit. Does anyone know what I am entitled to? Would it be different if I were on a temporary contract?

I know this has probably been asked dozens of times before, but is there anything I can take for a cold. Seems to be mainly sinus so far though nothings to say if won't settle in the chest. If nothing else, could I take some halls throat losanges.
