| A day in the life....... (long) | 31 Dec 2004 22:20 GMT | 74 |
(I started making these notes because I'd read Gina Ford's 'Contented Little Baby Book' and was curious as to what would happen if I tried waking baby for feeds/putting him down for naps at the times her routines dictate - would he magically recognise something that fitted

| Do I need to be concerned about this? | 31 Dec 2004 21:21 GMT | 5 |
I'm approaching 34 weeks of pregnancy on Tuesday. This morning I woke up and my tee shirt was soaking wet. I realize that this is colostrum-breastmilk, but it has been leaking all day, and now my breasts are extremely sore. Is this anything I need to worry about?

| Wow - now it's really really real! | 31 Dec 2004 17:06 GMT | 22 |
For reasons far too convoluted and boring to mention here we've had both our Nuchal Translucency scan (private) and the first 'dating' scan (NHS) today. Reaction: YEEHAH!!!! I'm going to be a Dad! The NT scan was the full 3D with animation and the quality of the pictures

| Another nausea thread - different subject though! :) | 31 Dec 2004 16:50 GMT | 17 |
You're probably all aware of my situation right now - 6 weeks and feeling rough. Many of you have provided solutions, and thank you so much. My question is: does nausea get progressively worse over the weeks

| Slate article on VBAC | 31 Dec 2004 06:02 GMT | 1 |
Not a bad article, but he barely mentions one of the major drivers of the anti-VBAC backlash - OB malpractice lawsuits. As an obstetrician colleague of mine says, "I'll start practicing evidence-based medicine as soon as they start practicing evidence-based law."

| breech at 31 wks | 31 Dec 2004 05:53 GMT | 8 |
At my last OB appt. I was 31 wks along and the doc. said she couldn't tell for sure, but *thought* what she felt at the bottom of my abdomen was little feet so that my baby was in a breech position. She said, nothing to worry about at this point and that they usually flip, but ...

| IUD info needed.... | 31 Dec 2004 01:56 GMT | 11 |
I am considering an IUD because I do not want to use hormonal birth control. I know some IUDs have homones but they don't affect you the same way the Depo shot or the pill does. So I am looking for any advice on what kind of IUD is the best, personal experiences/advice, or any

I delivered my daughter via c-section 15 days back. I first tried for vaginal delivery and had taken epidural too for labor. Since the delivery I am not being able to urinate. I do feel fullness in bladder and feel the urge to urinate but cannot pass out urine. I

Monkey Boy has one pair of infant cotton knit pants with feet, that I found at a thrift shop. I want to buy 4 or 5 more but I cannot find them anywhere, except as part of elaborate, expensive gift sets. They must have feet. Do you know of any online sources? TIA!

| Week 11 update on choosing OB, nausea, etc... | 30 Dec 2004 15:29 GMT | 2 |
Thanks to the excellent advice I received here, we've spent a lot of the last couple of weeks visiting several birthing centers and hospitals and meeting with three OBs and some midwives. Everyone was quite competent, but after we chose an OB, who happened to

| Baby descending into pelvis at 34 weeks | 30 Dec 2004 13:33 GMT | 4 |
This is my 6th baby and I'm 34 weeks, 4 days. I saw the midwife this afternoon and she says the baby's head has dropped and is in my pelvis already, though it's not actually engaged (the head engaging before labour happens more with first pregnancies apparently). I
