Congratulations to any early birds who know they're pregnant already! Is
it a shock, or a much-awaited blessing?  How many pregnancy tests did
you have to take before you believed it? :)  Any symptoms yet?

Welcome and congratulations, if you're just found out!  Do you feel
pregnant yet, or is it still new and stunning?  Have you started telling
people?  Started to look around at the hospitals and birth centers near
Sophia Violet makes her debut at last!16 Dec 2004 02:23 GMT18
Sophia Violet was born last Wednesday December 8 at 1:26 pm, weighing in
at 7 lb. 8 oz and 19.5 inches long. There is, of course, a story, but it
will have to wait till I'm less tired and more coherent (18 years
perhaps!). Labor went fast and well, though, and I got though it ...
Sushi and Cold Cuts16 Dec 2004 02:23 GMT11
Since my last pregnancy I have seen conflicting info about what I can and
cannot eat during this pg.
I have heard that ham and other cold cuts (and hot dogs) are now considered
a no no due to the nitrates.  I LOVE ham and am finding this a struggle (and

My wife is 36 weeks. She went for her normal checkup today and the OB
did an Ultrasound. He said the baby is 4 pounds and should be 5 pounds.
We are going thurs for all the tests and all that. I guess my question
is, could he be wrong? Shes pretty late for only a 4 pound baby, I ...

How are all the almost-almost-theres?  :)  Knee-deep in childbirth
classes?  Waking up a zillion times at night, have to pee more often?
Take some video of those alien-baby-earthquake kicks and tumbles, if you
Any Kiwi gals remember the name of these biscuits (craving to satisfy)15 Dec 2004 22:02 GMT25
Only one person here in NZ knows what I am talking about but she doesn't
remember the name of them.  We used to buy them at the dairy on the way to
school about 15-20 years ago.  They were about an inch wide by an inch and a
half long and were about 1/4 inch deep, and were made of ...

Paragard IUD experiences please15 Dec 2004 19:25 GMT19
I'm considering using this as birth control due to the fact that it is
non-hormonal. I know IUD's have been discussed here before and I did google
a bit, but I was hoping to get some fresh opinions. Anyone use it?

Update on TTC#6: into the 2WW!15 Dec 2004 15:17 GMT21
Good news this morning: I ovulated somewhere between wednesday and today.
The nurses at the clinic were already getting anxious, and wanted me to
come in for another u/s yesterday, but I didn't get their calls and so I
showed up as planned this morning. The gyn herself gave me the ...

I had an emergency C for my recent birth.  I'm on my 2nd week of
recovery and still am not feelign well.  I had some bleeding last

My husband now has to dress & pack the c section wound twice a day.
what to do.15 Dec 2004 10:42 GMT13
I am now 26 weeks and am still working fulltime.  I work in an office, I am
a software engineer so my day's are spent typing and at meetings.  I am
actually lucky enough (or not !) to work with my partner, so he looks after
me most of the time.
Anxious About Being Pregnant15 Dec 2004 10:30 GMT38
Hello there, I'm new to this site. Hoping to reduce my fears of being
pregnant. When I was young (I turned 37 in October) I couldn't wait to
have a baby - now, the older I get, it seems the more anxious I become
about being pregnant. It's not about being a parent, I greatly look
