Cheap Food Ideas05 Mar 2005 16:41 GMT6
Does anyone have recipes for cheap food ideas, such as dinner.
I am buying a slow cooker/crock pot and would like recipes for anything that
can be cooked in one of these and also just any ideas about cheap meal
ideas.
Infant death mentioned (was baby stopping breathing)05 Mar 2005 16:34 GMT32
Just to say that my sister's baby died last night in her arms. It's been a
hard 3.5 weeks but thanks to the people who sent good vibes.

Ew ew ew05 Mar 2005 08:13 GMT14
So there I was sitting on my bed, thinking about going back to sleep. Had a
contraction which was a good one, decided, "Oh, why don't I put a chux down
so if I need to relax too much I don't make a mess."
So I picked up a chux from next to my bed, set it next to me so I could put ...
Hot water...05 Mar 2005 07:29 GMT12
Hi all...
I know about the danger of overheating when pregnant because it shunts
blood away from the uterus to the skin for cooling purposes.  But I'm
finding it really cold at night and the only thing that warms me up is
Swollen fingers in early pregnancy05 Mar 2005 07:21 GMT6
For the past 2 weeks my fingers have been swelling so I can't wear my
wedding rings. My ankles are normal. I usually get swollen fingers quite
late on in pregnancy. Is this normal early on?
I am almost 8 weeks pregnant.
Amniocentesis - cons/pros05 Mar 2005 07:16 GMT68
Hello, all!
I would like to know your opinion:  does it make sense to request
amniocentesis even if, G-d willing, there are no risk indicators for
this?  Has anyone done this test without indicators and regretted it?
squatting and pelvic rocks, for Larry and Todd05 Mar 2005 03:24 GMT32
Larry, why is it you encourage to do pelvic rocks? can't remember at all,
but I do love doing them in the shower with the water spraying over my lower
back
Todd, squatting, how on earth is one supposed to give birth in that
bad cramp05 Mar 2005 01:25 GMT6
just in my calf, dont panic.
Woke up with a shocker of a cramp last night - have had them before in this
pg, but not so bad as this one.  Still sore in the morning, rang my GP (=
uncle) he said come in and make sure it is not a clot.  Love having a medico
Birth Story - Late & Long!04 Mar 2005 21:57 GMT21
Here is my birth story, a bit late I know but hey I've a new baby now
and you know how it is. Sorry it's a bit long but nothing is ever
straight forward for me ….
I was booked into hospital for a scheduled induction at 9.30 on 10th
Heard the heartbeat!04 Mar 2005 20:54 GMT3
Yesterday morning I got out my doppler and tried to find the baby's
heartbeat.  Much to my surprise, I did find it!  I'm only 10 weeks, so I
really wasn't expecting to.  It was 172 bpm.... so we're hoping the old
wives' tale will pull through for us!
No baby yet...GBS antibiotics question04 Mar 2005 18:38 GMT15
My water broke around 16 hours ago and I have yet to go into active labour.
My contractions are not very strong and not at all predictable. I am GBS
positive and my midwife has said I have up to 24 hours until I absolutely
need antibiotics. I've read 18 hours, but I trust my midwife ...
Back to the OB's...04 Mar 2005 17:56 GMT10
I had to go back to the OB's today --- ended up missing
the class I was supposed to teach.  Thing is, the can't-pee
thing came back, only worse: I couldn't pee at all!
I called when I discovered that around 12:15, and got

The above link is to the Google News page listing all of the sites that
talk about the recent Japanese study that acquitted the MMR of causing
autism.  Since most of the links were non-US news outlets, I wasn't

Ah, the third trimester joy . . .04 Mar 2005 00:27 GMT5
I'm starting to feel like I'm carrying the baby from that article in
The Onion (for those who read it). It feels like the kid is trying to
dig his way out through the cervix. I had this with ds, too, and it is
*not* a good feeling.
