| Ew ew ew | 05 Mar 2005 08:13 GMT | 14 |
So there I was sitting on my bed, thinking about going back to sleep. Had a contraction which was a good one, decided, "Oh, why don't I put a chux down so if I need to relax too much I don't make a mess." So I picked up a chux from next to my bed, set it next to me so I could put ...

| Hot water... | 05 Mar 2005 07:29 GMT | 12 |
Hi all... I know about the danger of overheating when pregnant because it shunts blood away from the uterus to the skin for cooling purposes. But I'm finding it really cold at night and the only thing that warms me up is

| Swollen fingers in early pregnancy | 05 Mar 2005 07:21 GMT | 6 |
For the past 2 weeks my fingers have been swelling so I can't wear my wedding rings. My ankles are normal. I usually get swollen fingers quite late on in pregnancy. Is this normal early on? I am almost 8 weeks pregnant.

| Amniocentesis - cons/pros | 05 Mar 2005 07:16 GMT | 68 |
Hello, all! I would like to know your opinion: does it make sense to request amniocentesis even if, G-d willing, there are no risk indicators for this? Has anyone done this test without indicators and regretted it?

| Heard the heartbeat! | 04 Mar 2005 20:54 GMT | 3 |
Yesterday morning I got out my doppler and tried to find the baby's heartbeat. Much to my surprise, I did find it! I'm only 10 weeks, so I really wasn't expecting to. It was 172 bpm.... so we're hoping the old wives' tale will pull through for us!

| No baby yet...GBS antibiotics question | 04 Mar 2005 18:38 GMT | 15 |
My water broke around 16 hours ago and I have yet to go into active labour. My contractions are not very strong and not at all predictable. I am GBS positive and my midwife has said I have up to 24 hours until I absolutely need antibiotics. I've read 18 hours, but I trust my midwife ...

| Ah, the third trimester joy . . . | 04 Mar 2005 00:27 GMT | 5 |
I'm starting to feel like I'm carrying the baby from that article in The Onion (for those who read it). It feels like the kid is trying to dig his way out through the cervix. I had this with ds, too, and it is *not* a good feeling.
