Warning, this is definitely a rant06 May 2005 22:57 GMT24
I know I shouldn't get so worked up, but oh my word!!!
My sister's doctor is a piece of work.  He is in practice with the ob that I
see, and he actually was the attending doctor when I birthed my daughter.
Perhaps, I have a bit of bias as I thought he was a jerk, but I haven't
Long distance travel at 6 months...06 May 2005 22:37 GMT4
We were planning to fly from TX to Switzerland in Sept, when I'll be
about 26 weeks pregnant. Trip is about 18 hrs overall (multiple
flights).
I know it should be ok healthwise, but DH is worried the airlines will
Still on this feckin' island06 May 2005 21:20 GMT14
Moan ahead, with bonus points to those who get the reference in the subject.
Very uneventful 39 week appt.  BP was 130/80, urine was clear, weight not
checked :-), baby now 3/5 palpable, still LOA afaict.
I saw the "Man Himself" (aka the consultant) rather than the registrar
Study urges halt to episiotomy06 May 2005 05:21 GMT8
Just heard this study reported on NPR. If the rate of episiotomy doesn't
drop significantly after this study, it's proof positive that the majority
of OBs have no interest in practicing evidence-based medicine:

I wasn't induced yet06 May 2005 05:10 GMT5
Well, for those keeping up, I wasn't induced on Tuesday.  I (and the
baby) passed all our tests, so despite the reduced insulin needs making
us worry about placental function we have continued the pg for now.  At
my Friday OB appointment, we may revisit this decision.  So, I'm still
Pregnancy tests05 May 2005 22:02 GMT1
I know this is silly but when is the best time to do a test? I've sort of
pin pointed conception and I just wanted to get a test done as soon as
possible.
Any help please. Ta!
Turning Baby05 May 2005 18:53 GMT7
I am 31 weeks pregnant and the baby is lying across (transverse?). I realise
it's early days to start panicking, but I thought I'd look into some of the
exercises that can be done that may help encourage baby to move head down.
What I don't understand is that the basics of the ...
Hello...and question05 May 2005 17:26 GMT4
This is a fairly late introduction to the group (I'm 35 weeks) but I thought
someone here might have some advice or insight into some weird pains I'm
having.  I don't remember getting this until later with my first pregnancy,
and they were much milder.  They're sharp, shooting pains ...
De-lurking05 May 2005 15:47 GMT3
Hi, all!
I've been busy lurking around for the last week or so, and I didn't know how
else to show face around here, so I thought I'd just start like this and see
where it goes...
any young mums?05 May 2005 15:44 GMT74
Any young mums from Brisbane out there?
frustrated!05 May 2005 08:38 GMT32
Just got back from the doctor's office. I'm 4 days past my due date and am
not dilated or effaced at all. Not only that, but the baby is no longer
engaged like he was last time I visited. I have one more week to go, but if
nothing happens by next Monday (11 days past due), he ...
Late night ouchies05 May 2005 07:46 GMT1
I think I'm getting a combination of BHs and baby movement roughly at the time
I want to go to sleep.  My stomach goes hard and I've had diffuse
contraction-style pain.  Warmth helps.  I'm also getting sharp pain behind the
pubic bone when Baby moves, and often upon standing up.  ...
My birth story (or how I wimped out) :)05 May 2005 07:44 GMT16
This is a little late, since I gave birth to my son on April 21st. I've
been a little busy.
Our daughter was born two and a half years ago by c-section during the
37th week.  She was breech. I had been wanting a VBAC with this one,
Happy International Midwives Day05 May 2005 01:48 GMT1
To Jo and any other midwives here ... have a great day :)
The midwife that delivered DS was on the front page of yesterday's local
paper with a brand new bub  .... brought a tear to my eye ;)

My 37+2 week update05 May 2005 00:19 GMT2
Wow...so here we are already, at the end..the final countdown.  Seems
like it has just FLOWN by...
first...a complaint.  I'm getting irritated at how many people say
things to me like, "aren't you miserable?' "I remember those last few
