Elective caesarian29 May 2005 22:32 GMT6
Does anyone on here have any experience of successfully getting an elective
caesarian on the NHS? Failing that, any experience of getting one privately?

Question about 1st trimester29 May 2005 04:11 GMT3
Hi! I don't remember this happening in pregnancy #1. I'm on pregnancy
#2 and will be 6 weeks on Tuesday. This morning at 3 am I woke up
feeling like I was going to toss my cookies, but instead, I have
diarrhea. I still feel nauseous, but has anyone else had diarrhea? Or
Want to help my friend, please assist29 May 2005 00:08 GMT2
I am hoping you can help me.  I have a friend who is 37 years old and has a
condition called polycythemia which means I think she has too many red blood
cells and has clotting problems.  There is a more severe type but she has
the less severe.  She really has no physical symptoms ...
home versus hospital birth28 May 2005 02:12 GMT5
Can anyone send me their experiences of home births versus
hospitalization.  I am interested in anyone who feels that the home
birth option is better.
Thanks
2 month check27 May 2005 22:50 GMT7
A bit late (they were scheduling 10 days out...) but awesome news...Shiny's
55th percentile in height and weight, and has gained 6 1/2 ounces per week
since she was 7 weeks old. And has met all developmental milestones to date.

Birth Story - aka the gory details ;-)27 May 2005 19:27 GMT20
I lost my mucus plug at 1:30am on the 19th and contractions started almost
immediately. We headed for the hospital at around 4am as I was feeling all
the contractions very low down and was somewhat concerned about my scar.
When we got there, the contractions were roughly every 5 ...
Effect of second-hand smoke on babies?27 May 2005 19:17 GMT22
I have a request for all you research-savvy moms out there: my
brother-in-law smokes outside the house, but always reeks of smoke.  He
and my sister have an 11-month-old baby and he does not believe that
the smoke on his clothing will have any effect on her health.  Are
quick update27 May 2005 18:46 GMT4
some people may have noticed I've gone quiet (for me!) but not vanished
entirely, anyway, I was 37 weeks yesterday, I'm still suffering with my
joints, which is why I've not been posting, I can usually only manage 1 15
minute session at the computer per day.
Meaning of nuchal test after 2nd trimester.27 May 2005 17:03 GMT1
When my wife was in 20 weeks of her pregnancy, we had said to take 2nd
level of sonography.
After that test, it was found that our baby had 9mm nuchal fold
thickness.  It's like come out of blue because everything was good in
Regarding Rhogam27 May 2005 16:47 GMT10
I'm thinking of refusing the rhogam shot at 28 weeks.  I'm O- and hubby is
O+.   I've had the shot at 28 weeks for my previous pregnancies and
afterwards, but this will be my last baby.  Hubby is getting a vasectomy,
and I'm quite certain he's not changing his mind.  My three ...
Breastfeeding/Nutrition27 May 2005 14:53 GMT16
I have got a 5 week old baby and am having trouble keeping up with the
amount of food  need to eat.
I seem to get hungry about 3 times a day even though I eat breakfast
lunch and dinner.
My DH: Once very hesitant about natural/homebirth/midwifery27 May 2005 08:13 GMT8
Has now turned into a homebirth guru. He's buying books (and reading
them), preaching to me of all the advantages, lamenting the
overmedicalized birth in our society...

multiple miscarriages late 30's pregnet again27 May 2005 04:10 GMT5
In about a week I should be finding out exactly how far along I am. I
am approximating 9 weeks. The past 4 miscarriages I had I was in my
late third to early 4th month along so I am nervous.(3 miscarriages
with ex , one with father now) Between the different RH factors in the
My long weekend/week27 May 2005 03:56 GMT13
This might end up sounding like a whine, but I'm feeling a little
overwhelmed!!
I hit 20 weeks on Thursday (yea!!), but I've been dealing with a horrible
toothache and tooth sensitivity.  I've also got a raging yeast infection
I want to ask you the most important question of your life. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure you are going to Heaven. May 22, 2005 12:05:45 pm27 May 2005 03:53 GMT3
