I will be offline for a while as we are soon moving back to Europe. Everything is going according to plan. Due to the stress I have a bit more BH, but nothing I cannot handle. At my last checkup on wednesday everything looked just perfect. Cervix still nice and long, hearts beating

| 35.5 Wk OB visit | 19 May 2005 20:24 GMT | 3 |
I am so happy my BP is "perfect" 118/78, which is stunning considering it was horrendous during the same time period last time. It just goes to show you that every pg is different! Still measuring ahead (40 wks), doc is suggesting baby probably weighs close

| 41 week appt | 19 May 2005 20:19 GMT | 7 |
Where do I start? I went in this morning, half hoping that there'd be some reason that i'd have to stay in and that the baby would be born within the next day or so. OTOH, I was fully prepared to fight my corner should everything look alright but any pressure was applied for an ...

| Genetic Counseling Appointment | 19 May 2005 19:50 GMT | 9 |
I had a genetic counseling appointment today. We were hoping to find a possible cause for Mariam's death, anything we should watch for with this pregnancy, and hopefully find out if the boys are identical or fraternal. This was a huge waste of time, and I really wish I hadn't went. ...

| Was I pregnant? | 19 May 2005 16:00 GMT | 21 |
My partner and I spent some time (and money!) going through IVF but with no success. This finished over a year ago and we are still trying but attempting to not let it rule our lives. This month, my period was just over two weeks late. It was much

| it gets worse | 19 May 2005 00:38 GMT | 5 |
weekend was bearable, Monday morning was not, I was in total despair, a few calls were made and the decision taken that I should go to the hospital, fortunately saw very sympathetic midwives and doctor, doctor instantly referred me for assessment by the rheumatology team. Their ...

| Silly rant -- Target | 19 May 2005 00:15 GMT | 8 |
DH travels one day a week for business, so today was my alone day (well, alone evening, after daycare) with DS. He needs new sandals (last summer's sandals don't fit), more pants (that's the limiting factor on laundry

| first trimester ends when? | 18 May 2005 05:58 GMT | 11 |
Just trying to figure out if I'm almost at the end of the first trimester (12wks on Fri) or if I have two more weeks to go. No particular reason, it's just that there are lots of references to risks decreasing at the end of the first trimester, things that start to happen in the ...

| Virginia hospital stats | 17 May 2005 23:19 GMT | 8 |
Has anyone tried to get c-section rates out of Virginia (particularly Northern Virginia) hospitals with any success? Someone I know says he's getting the runaround at the hospitals, with them refusing to give out c-section stats, saying they don't have that

| Sharing (or not) homebirth plans? | 17 May 2005 21:50 GMT | 22 |
We've decided not to discuss our plans with any family members until after the fact. All live far away and while we talk often, it shouldn't be *that* difficult. However, I know my MD sister who is totally anti-non-medical birth will push for details about everything...and
