extra sensitive hearing during pregnancy01 Jul 2005 00:22 GMT7
Has anyone ever come across this??  I've normally got pretty sensitive
hearing to begin with, but I'm currently 12 1/2 weeks pregnant and I just
can't handle things being too loud.  If normally I would have the TV on
about 25 or so (for the volume setting) I now prefer it on ...
Update on us!30 Jun 2005 23:34 GMT7
We're doing pretty good!  Just a week away from the third trimester.  I've
had some contractions and cramping, but it's not regular.  I had a cervical
length last week and while it's shortening, we're still safe.
To my surprise, since I was there, they offered me a 4D ultrasound.  ...
Help advice needed with teenager!30 Jun 2005 19:04 GMT5
I am the eldest of 5. As a kid I was beaten and abused. We had parents that
never showed us love, I was kept out of school to care for 4 kids.
I have lived away from my parents since I was 15.... my sister came to live
with me when she was 15 and I was 18... I took my parents to ...
alpha fetoprotein test - is this a crucial test?30 Jun 2005 12:38 GMT8
My ob casually asked me as I was preparing to leave my last appt if I wanted
to have this test done.  I had never heard of it before, and I asked her to
explain.  She mentioned it was to find out if the baby was at risk of spinal
cord problems, but didn't really elaborate.  She ...

What is an acceptable triple screen result?30 Jun 2005 05:10 GMT14
I am 17 weeks pregnant and I am waiting for my triple screen results.
The doctor told me that the results are going to tell me the
possibility for my baby to have Down's syndrome, like 1 in X. I am
wondering if anyone knows what the threshold X is. What is an
Baby dropping... already?30 Jun 2005 00:17 GMT4
So there I am at work, walking around [I am always on my feet] when it
occurred to me that walking was actually harder to do today than it was say,
yesterday. However, I was not puffed out as badly after climbing stairs. I
then noticed my bump had dropped and my baby's movements ...
Re: Way OT! Toilet Seat Question29 Jun 2005 23:47 GMT2
I was
Searching for something else (obviously) and this old thread came up in
the search.  This was very interesting to me because I was under the
impression that only us guys made a mess in the public
Pregnant - Itchy Nipples29 Jun 2005 22:48 GMT9
I am pregnant with my 3rd child (around 19weeks). I don't tend to have any
pregnancy symptoms when pregnant, and indeed only tend to feel pregnant when
the baby moves.  In my last 2 pregnancies, I got the "sore nipples" thing
when I got cold (ie so when I got cold, my nipples ...
Perinatologist appt and different results29 Jun 2005 17:54 GMT63
Yesterday was our peri appointment.  It went different than we expected.  We
went through the ultrasound, which was really difficult, and then we spoke
to the perinatologist.  It took us a little bit to digest what he was saying
because it is definitely different than what we were ...

elevated beta hcg29 Jun 2005 15:02 GMT1
Thanks so much for the thorough reply.  It's frustrating that I don'
have much control over it, but I suppose I should consider myself luck
that this risk has been identified and we can monitor it all closely an
react accordingly.
Infant Car Seats - Not as Safe as Convertibles?29 Jun 2005 11:57 GMT15
Just wanted to get some views out there from those that have tried both
infant and convertible car seats for small babies (10 lbs and up).
For my 1st son, I used a convertible (Graco Comfortsport - awesome car
seat, BTW) mostly because he was already 23 inches long and almost 12
Vitamin C may not have much effect on the common cold29 Jun 2005 05:48 GMT1
So, we all know to stuff our kids with vitamin C during the cold season
to ward off the sniffles, but new research shows that vitamin C does
not prevent or cure the common cold, unless the person taking it is
under extreme stress. Isn't that interesting? I read all about it in an
