Alexander's birth story (very long and rambly)23 Jun 2005 04:08 GMT12
I started having irregular, mostly painless, uncomfortable contractions on
Friday, June 3rd. This continued through Monday. I fell asleep Monday night
at about midnight and was awoken at just before 2:00 am by a very painful
contraction. I got up to pee and to see if that would ...
GTT/GD - somewhat of a rant23 Jun 2005 03:30 GMT8
I do not post here much, I mostly lurk.  I am having what many of you would
consider a very interventionist pregnancy, and please respect that this is
my choice.  We went through IVF and I am now 30w5d pregnant with twins.  I
am willing to do anything to keep these babies safe ...
some women are genetically programmed for later fertility22 Jun 2005 19:47 GMT1
Did you know that some women who cannot conceive earlier in life may be
able to later in life due to their genes?  I found this really
intersting when I found out.  As unfortunate as it is that some women
cannot conceive earlier in life its really hopeful and promising to
lack of appetite - normal?22 Jun 2005 16:24 GMT52
i'm 23 weeks. for the past couple of days i have been lacking any appetite.
i'm not feeling queasy or anything, just not hungry. when pregnant with DS i
couldn't stop eating, so this is very different. and i usually adore food. i
certainly don't have any cravings.
Got my Mirena22 Jun 2005 16:18 GMT18
And it was much better than last time... Word to the wise... when you get a
mirena, make sure you get an EXPERIENCED practitioner. The difference
between "I've never done this type before" and "I've done thousands of
these" was huge. I was NOT on my period, cramped twice, said ...
Pregnant wife and a new kitten.  Is this bad?22 Jun 2005 15:33 GMT12
My wife is about 17 weeks pregnant and our housemate just brought
home a new kitten.  We've read about toxoplasmosis and that my wife
shouldn't go near the kitty litter.  Other than that, is this a safe
situation?  I might add that the cat never goes outside.  Does this
Milk In Baby's Breast21 Jun 2005 20:37 GMT3
I don't know if this is true etc, but one of R's friends has recently (one
week ago) had a little girl.
She's told R that her daughter has a swollen breast with milk collecting in
it.

NEED HELP21 Jun 2005 08:24 GMT2
A few weeks ago I saw a great cover for a stroller but I have lost the
site. It was made of net/mesh, it's placed over the stroller and looks
like a small tent, great to keep the bugs away from babies when having
a nap in the garden.....if you know of the mesh like tent could you
carrying high/low - does it mean anything?21 Jun 2005 02:37 GMT11
I keep having these women tell me, "Oh, you're having a boy/girl because you
are carrying so high."  Isn't this an old wives tale?  Just curious, because
I had a girl last time, and I was definitely carrying much lower.  What
makes the difference on how you carry, anyways?
SPD and asthma...21 Jun 2005 02:14 GMT2
I was going to write a lovely whaaaambulance cry, but changed my mind.
Instead, I'll just cut to the chase. I have questions for anyone who
has been there done that with SPD or asthma.
SPD first:

Recovering from a C-section20 Jun 2005 23:19 GMT28
I lurk in this newsgroup even though I'm no longer pregnant and never
intend to be pregnant again (two miscarriages and two preemies with my
last coming early with all medical and physical prevention possible is
enough).  There is often good advice here even though I don't carry ...

What's the latest developmental stage?
What's your child's passion?
What's your kid's favorite thing (book or possession)?
Good news - GTT20 Jun 2005 17:16 GMT6
Well, I got a 99.  Which is almost an A+  :)  They tell me that this is
a "pass," which means that I can get my husband AND my doctor off of my
back simultaneously.  Beautiful!
Carb loading for a few days before, then eating only protein the day
