Ultrasound / Amnio / Down Syndrom18 Jan 2006 03:26 GMT5
Today was my "routine" 20 weeks ultrasound.
Everything is fine with the baby (it's a boy, btw), except for his nuchal
fold, which is 7 mm. Given my age (35 at birth), the risk of my baby boy
having Down syndrom is, according to the genetician at the hospital, between

Should I fire this guy because he bought his degree from the internet?18 Jan 2006 01:21 GMT5
Hey guys, I posted this on another board and the verdict I got was to
fire him. Since I've been lurking here for a while I thought I'd post
it here for some more advice.
A couple years ago I hired a guy named Thomas as a senior tech for a
14 month old constipation issues18 Jan 2006 00:04 GMT6
Our 14 month old seems to be getting really constipated.  I don't know
if that's the right word in this case.  He does have a BM daily but it
seems painful, takes 2-3 tries (often) and then when it does finally go
through, he cries (sometimes screams).  So it seems like it's really
Ooooo!17 Jan 2006 22:42 GMT7
I'm not sure, this is uncharted territory for me, but I think I may have
had a show.
If I'm right, does it mean anything in terms of imminence of labour?
Anything at all?
Darn clomid17 Jan 2006 21:08 GMT4
Not a critic on clomid per se (although it made the last month I used
it horrible, emotionally), but I am finally working with an specialist
and he finds that I am ovulating just fine.  My results for
progesterone is  6.1 on the 12 of January and I had shown on the stick
waiting for an epidural17 Jan 2006 18:57 GMT20
With my first, I had a walking epidural when I was at 7 cm. The epidural
was a wonderful, glorious thing for me in that labor -- I desperately
needed the respite.
For this labor, I'm thinking about postponing the epidural and seeing
How soon is too soon to start preparing?17 Jan 2006 15:27 GMT2
Doing things like, making my backup driver practice the route to the
hospital, putting waterproof stuff on my bed just in case, packing my
hospital bag, etc.  When should I start?
I'm actually kinda hoping that if I do as much "It's gonna happen any
Need recommended newsgroup17 Jan 2006 06:30 GMT5
What's the name of the newsgroup where topics about children, not pregnancy,
are discussed?  I have some questions about my 22 month old and I know this
group isn't where I should be posting.  Thanks!
pregnancy planning and insurance17 Jan 2006 04:14 GMT7
I am just starting to consider getting pregnant and know very little
about what is invovled and what to expect. What should I look for in my
insurance to make sure that I am adequately covered during my potential
pregnancy, delivery and after that?
where can I buy the old diaper genie?17 Jan 2006 00:29 GMT40
My wifes wants the old style diaper genie which she is familiar with.
There are too many reviews saying the new (and improved) version
is far worse when it comes to odors.  However I can't find anyplace
to buy a new one.  There are a few retailers that show pictures

"But you're not supposed to start showing/need maternity clothes til 5 or 6 months"16 Jan 2006 19:49 GMT29
-Said most often by someone who's never been pregnant, it's just what
they "knew".
I find this funny, so now I'm curious about others' experiences.
By 10 weeks I had a belly big enough to require clothes in a bigger
Grant is three months16 Jan 2006 10:42 GMT11
I know some of you said you were interested in hearing about Grant's
progress.  He's three months old and about 18 pounds.  He had a shunt
revision this week, so that's been a bit stressful.  I thought I'd post a
link to his caringbridge site, and I have a journal and a recent ...
