Lola Theodora says "Hello world!"17 Feb 2006 04:25 GMT17
This is to let you know Lola Theodora was born on Sunday February 5th
at 10:45 PM at home after a long labour, one week early, and is the
cutest thing in the universe!  She weighed 8 pounds and is 20 inches
long.
Birth story :))))17 Feb 2006 03:51 GMT54
Well....it all started at 11pm on Thursday night with little regular
twinges in my back and tummy.  By 12 they were quick regular and
getting painful.  I talked to my midwife and gave her the heads up.  At
1am I phoned her back and asked her to come and hang out at my house as

I work in labor and delivery and am glad to meet everyone here.  If
anyone has any questions for me, I'd be glad to try to answer them.

what soft toys for babies?15 Feb 2006 23:38 GMT9
I've noticed that most soft toys say they're not suitable for children 3
years and under. Occasionally I see soft toys that are supposed to be
suitable from birth, but I can't figure out what the difference is. I'd
rather like to make my own soft toys, but don't want to make them ...
pelvic rocks15 Feb 2006 18:38 GMT4
okay, I know that this has probably been discussed a million times, but
I've googled it and have ended up feeling really confused.  How do you
properly do pelvic rocks?  My first baby was born posterior, and if
possible I'd really like to avoid that pain again.
Told my OB I was leaving her for my midwife....15 Feb 2006 18:11 GMT4
Not an easy conversation!
We did a 20wk u/s and all looks great, all tests have been normal as I
expected. Apart from my age and prior m/c, I have no risk factors (low
BP, otherwise healthy, no history of GDS in my family and no signs of
Update on breech baby and ECV15 Feb 2006 12:06 GMT4
I had the baby turned today and it was no problem whatsoever.  The
midwife was amazing and very experienced and the baby turned in about
30 seconds with no discomfort at all.  I couldn't even feel her turn
inside so I had to put my hands on my belly to feel her progress.  The
Question: MC mentioned15 Feb 2006 10:54 GMT2
Hope you and bumps/babes are all well.
This is rather a sensitive question and I don't mean to upset anyone but how
to those people who have been unfortunate to lose babies remember them?  Do
you celebrate a "birthday"?  The reason I ask is I lost a daughter 4 years
you spin right round, baby, right round15 Feb 2006 06:40 GMT7
It turns out that the regular, mildly painful BH contractions I asked
about a few days ago were actually a bit serious. All is fine now, but I
had a kidney infection and it was bringing on labor. I've been taking
antibiotics and things calmed down.
newbie question--a bit graphic, sorry15 Feb 2006 04:30 GMT10
Hi all.  I am very much a newbie both to the group, and to pregnancy.
I am just 8 weeks into my first pregnancy.  So, I must ask....has
anyone else experienced this (and any suggestions would be more than
appreciated):
Very OT15 Feb 2006 04:02 GMT16
Pictures of my poor car. lol
I couldn't resist. :(  Posted as OT for a reason, but that's alright.  I
just got these pictures yesterday morning.  My dad took them and emailed
them to me, and I still get sick to my stomach when I look at them.

Labour versus Burst Ear Drum14 Feb 2006 21:52 GMT30
This is a long shot but I wondered if there is anybody out there who
has both suffered from a broken ear drum and had a natural birth. The
reason I ask is that six years ago I accidentally pierced my ear drum
with the plastic stick on a toy flag (see
