stripping membranes - please advise19 Mar 2006 21:35 GMT7
I had my 37-week checkup yesterday. I was complaining to my doctor about
how sick I am of being pregnant, all the aches and pains etc. She
offered to strip my membranes next week, cautioning that it works only
about 20% of the time and she might not be able to anyway (I have a ...
Taking pictures?19 Mar 2006 19:55 GMT7
I'm just looking for some ideas...
I had NOT wanted to take pictures of myself (or have them taken) when I was
pg with DD (I had 1 picture with DS1 and 2 pictures with DS2) but, for some
reason this time, I REALLY want to take (lots of) pictures of myself...
are these good stats or not?19 Mar 2006 15:17 GMT12
stats from February at our local hospital, 62% spontaneous vaginal delivery
for first time mums, unfortunately I don't have the split of c-sections,
forceps, ventouse etc for the remaining 38%. I thought this was a pretty
good rate, possibly even very good, I know a little about ...

were good, there was no negative feedback. MW made a statement saying she
Overdue Birth Story19 Mar 2006 05:02 GMT5
Kathy here, with the long overdue story of our DD's birth.
Some of you might remember me from the many times I asked for (and
received great) advice towards the end of February concerning the roller
coaster ride that was the end of my pregnancy.

obstetricians, sonologists and sonographers who want to obtain a huge

resources for school system info?17 Mar 2006 19:52 GMT3
A little off topic for this group probably, but we're looking at buying
a house and have a 14 month old and another due in May.  One of the
important things down the road will obviously be the school system.
I'm trying to find a (free) resource that will help me learn about how
How did you pick an MD?  (For those with doctor/hospital births)17 Mar 2006 15:40 GMT16
How did you pick an MD for your prenatal care and birth?
I'm considering switching mine, though I think it would earn me a big
red "difficult patient" sticker on my file (I'm already on my second).
It's not that I'm indecisive -- it's that the way my hospital is set

fairly difficult appointment yesterday17 Mar 2006 14:38 GMT9
Due to my history of postnatal depression I am still seeing a psychiatrist
regularly and so far I've been free of any depressive illness, though I
remain on medication, whether this has been preventative, or whether I would
have been fine anyway, who knows!
Support belts??17 Mar 2006 12:53 GMT2
I've never used one or had one... I have a friend who was 5 weeks behind me
with her pregnancy, and she swore by hers.  She picked one up towards the
end of her pregnancy, and I sat through mine and suffered lol
Any comments about these maternity support belts?  Do they actually ...

Calling all ultrasound experts16 Mar 2006 22:45 GMT19
Maybe some of you can help me here.
I cannot remember what was in a couple of the pics that they gave me the
other day.   Also, if you can confirm what I believe some of the other
pics are (or if I am missing something) that would be nice. :-)
Posterior baby16 Mar 2006 22:44 GMT3
After such a great first pregnancy and delivery, I knew this one would
have to be different!  ;)
After suffering severe back pain this entire pregnancy, I now know that
the baby is in a posterior position.  I am only 32 weeks so am hoping
baby hospital bag16 Mar 2006 19:22 GMT47
I have gotten the baby hospital bag ready but I keep thinking that I
forgot some real major thing and that I will be so upset and baby will
need something that I did not bring, etc. I feel so stressed out.
Every site I go to and every book I read tells me different things to
