1920s Medical Treatment for Postpartum Hemorrhage21 Jul 2006 18:54 GMT11
I am researching a book and have an unusual question. Does anyone know
what treatment would have been given to a woman in the early 1920s in
the USA who hemorrhaged at home, 15 hours after birth, to a stillborn
baby? The woman died, and the secondary diagnosis was uterine atony on
Joint Baby Shower for Sisters?21 Jul 2006 18:45 GMT24
Both my sister and I are pregnant, due to deliver a week apart from
each other. We've been discussing how to go about a baby shower for
family and family friends. Do we have a joint baby shower or individual
showers (again specifically for family and family friends)? Either way

Leaving time for me20 Jul 2006 22:55 GMT5
Just to let you know I think it is time I left this NG, I don't post much
anymore but I will probably be over on one of the parenting forums. Joanna
is now 5 months old, she is currently still in foster care as social
services dragged their boots and things got delayed but I was ...

I was given a used car seat that is in great condition. It's 6 years
old. I called the manufacturer to check for any recalls. There were
none, although they told me they give their car seats 6 year life
spans. Does anyone have any insight to this?? I'm sure the manufacturer

from the New Yorker -- preeclampsia research article19 Jul 2006 17:33 GMT10
"In June, 2000, Ananth Karumanchi, a thirty-one-year-old kidney
specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston, read an
article in Nature about preeclampsia, a poorly understood disorder that
affects about five per cent of pregnant women."

I belong to a local Moms group, and we've started a bookclub.  Our first
book was a book called Little Earthquakes, by Jennifer Weiner.  A brief
synopsis:
Weiner's third novel is the story of four women in Philadelphia who bond
Headaches??18 Jul 2006 22:58 GMT6
I mentioned it to the ob yesterday but he didn't acknowledge it and
considering I have already been through this I know that headaches are part
of being preggers but this is just getting rediculous. I have had a pretty
much constant headache for over 2 weeks now and it's just ...
Hospitalized and Bored!18 Jul 2006 15:55 GMT8
Hi all...
My wife is 33 weeks pregnant and stuck in the hospital until our baby

Bad Stomach?18 Jul 2006 09:03 GMT3
Lately I've noticed that my stomach always feels really upset.  I find it's
always in the evening - usually around 10pm or so - and it just feels like I
have a major upset stomach.  This has been going on for the past 3 nights
now.

C-section or VBAC17 Jul 2006 04:11 GMT6
I've had a prior c-section and am a candidate to have a VBAC this time
around.  I told them I'd like to try the VBAC just for the sake of not
having to be cut into again.  I think deep down I'd really like to go the
easy route and do the c-section again, but everything I've read ...
