I have a friend who has been found to have the MTHFR gene mutation. She has previously had three healthy babies without problems related to this condition, then she had a miscarriage, then learned of the mutation. Now she is entering the second trimester of pregnancy.

I have mild gestational diabetes which I'm controlling with a reduced- carb diet. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and the OB wants me to do twice- weekly non-stress tests starting from next week. So far I've put on 32 pounds in the pregnancy.
