My name is Matt, and I have been a step-dad for 1 year now. My fiancee
and I just recently turned 24. My step-daughter (I will call her Mary)
is 6, turning 7 this summer. Our intergration as a family has gone as
smoothly as could be expected for 23/24 year old parents raising a 6

I'm not having any major step issues right now <knocking on wood>. Just
wanted to delurk long enough to let everyone know that my oldest SD has
just been offered a full scholarship to the University of Maryland,
Baltimore County. Her father and I are so very, very proud of her.

Quickie background:
My lady and her husband split up in 1999. She moved from Toronto to
Vancouver. We bumped into each other shortly after that. We knew each
other for a while and eventually moved in togeher. She has 3 daughters

I was a family friend of my fiance and his ex-wife for 11 years.  He
moved out of his former family home, as did I, and we moved in

She and I weren't able to get together, since I'm in downtown SF and
she's a bit out of town, but we had a nice talk on the phone.  It's
